Rocky Mountain National Park
Rocky Mountain National Park in northern Colorado spans the Continental Divide and encompasses protected mountains, forests and alpine tundra. It's known for the Trail Ridge Road and the Old Fall River Road, drives that pass aspen trees and rivers. The Keyhole Route, a climb crossing vertical rock faces, leads up Longs Peak, the park’s tallest mountain. A trail surrounding Bear Lake offers views of the peaks.
Eldora Mountain
For downhill skiing, Eldora Mountain is the best option for guest staying in Estes Park. Located near Nederland, Colorado this ski resort is about an hour and fifteen minutes south of Estes Park. If you're looking to take a day trip, skiing at Eldora is a fantastic option that doesn't require a long drive.
Breckenridge Ski Resort
Lots of fun places to stay, shop, eat, tube, sleigh rides, and skiing of course! Breckenridge is another great option for a day trip, however the drive from Estes Park is about an hour and 40 minutes.
