If you had told us back in junior year English class that we’d be getting married one day, we probably would have laughed. Back then, we were barely even friends—completely unaware of what was ahead. But in a spontaneous, last-minute decision, Ricky asked Jamie to prom. What started as an amazing friendship quickly turned into something more, and by July 2014, we were officially together. Senior year was a dream—doing all the “lasts” side by side. But before we knew it, we were packing up for college… in completely different states. Four years of long distance meant endless FaceTime calls, flights from Connecticut to North Carolina, making the most of winter breaks, and cherishing every visit. It wasn’t always easy, but we always knew it was worth it. After graduation, we finally made it back home and started building our life together. We found the cutest little (fixer-upper) house in our favorite Connecticut town and filled it with love (and one very spoiled orange kitten, Pretzel). Life was falling perfectly into place. Then came May 2024. On a beautiful beach in Montauk, Ricky pulled off the surprise of a lifetime—getting down on one knee with Jamie’s family and friends secretly there to witness the big moment. She had absolutely no idea, but one thing was certain—without hesitation, she said yes! Now, we can't wait to celebrate the next chapter of our story with all of you in Sarasota, Florida. And what better day than Valentine’s Day? Let us host your date night this year! By planning it over Presidents’ Day weekend, we hope it makes it easier for many of you to make the trip and celebrate with us. Having our closest friends and family there means the world—it’s not just about one day, but about creating lifelong memories together, soaking up the Florida sunshine, and celebrating love, laughter, and the journey that brought us here.
