Our story began years ago at a roller skating rink, where we were introduced by mutual friends. Leti quickly caught my attention when she took an interest in a game I was playing on my phone. Though nothing significant came of that day, it was the start of something neither of us could have predicted. Fast forward a few years: I was at the mall with friends when I spotted Leti on the escalator heading to the food court, while we were heading down. In that fleeting moment, I felt compelled to turn around and say hello. My friends and I decided to follow her to the food court under the guise of being "suddenly hungry." That chance encounter gave us the opportunity to reconnect, a small but pivotal step toward the rest of our lives. A couple of months later, while I was in Austin, Leti messaged me out of the blue just to see how I was doing. That simple message turned into hours of conversations, and I began to discover how special she truly was. A few months later, she made a trip to Austin with a friend, and it became clear that our connection was something worth pursuing. Our first official date was on 6th Street, where we laughed, talked, and quickly realized how much we enjoyed each other’s company. From then on, we made it a point to see each other as often as we could, even with the distance between us. When I returned to Dallas for Thanksgiving, we planned a movie date. I remember being so nervous, but that night, I worked up the courage for our first kiss—a moment I’ll never forget. On Valentine’s Day, I finally asked Leti to be my girlfriend, and from that day forward, our love story truly began. To everyone reading this, thank you for being a part of our journey. Whether you've known us for years or are just learning about our story, your love and support mean the world to us. We feel so fortunate to share this next chapter of our lives with you. Our story is a testament to the beauty of timing, the power of connection, and the magic of love, we can’t wait to celebrate this special moment with all of you.
I first met Andres many years ago in middle school. At the time, my parents were very strict, so dating was out of the question. Life moved on, & a few years later, I ran into him again at the mall. We exchanged numbers, but nothing really came of it. I vividly remember another chance encounter during my senior year at a scholarship night. I was receiving a scholarship as class president of Heritage High. Andres was receiving an endowment scholarship. As we walked in with our families, my friend noticed him and said, “Wow, he’s handsome, why don’t you go talk to him?” My sisters and I laughed, and when I looked closer, I realized I already knew him. Embarrassed and hoping he hadn’t overheard, I shyly waved and said hello before we went our separate ways. Fast forward to a few months into my freshman year of college, I took my friend’s advice and decided to text him. Andres quickly became one of my closest friends. We traveled together with friends during spring break, visited each other whenever we could, and always made time for each other despite busy schedules. It was Andres who encouraged me to transfer to UT. A few months later, he asked me to be his girlfriend, and in April 2015—just before my birthday—I found out I had been admitted to UT! After graduation, we moved to Houston, where Andres began his career while supporting me as I pursued my dream of becoming a lawyer. God’s timing has always been perfect, and Andres has been my best friend for 10 years now. He’s my travel buddy, the one who makes me laugh, and the person who motivates me to dream bigger. He’s my person, and I’m so grateful we found each other. To everyone reading this, thank you for being part of our journey. Your love, support, and presence mean the world to us. As we celebrate this next chapter together, we hope our story reminds you that the best things in life come in God’s time.
