It was the summer of August, 2012, two college freshmen, from two different parts of the Bay Area, from two different cultures and upbringings, and two different musical passions met in the music building at San Jose State University. It was in our music advisor's office and Leslie was going to meet her for a meeting, and saw Jonathan sitting on the couch, with another guy, and a puppy and although Leslie had her preconceived thoughts, they became fast friends from the get-go. They had a lot of music classes together and when they'd sit in concert choir, they were always in each other's view, Bass to Alto. Nothing romantically really sparked for them in college, but they both knew that there was always something special about each other. They always lit up when the other was around, casual hugs in the hallway, doing Insanity in the Sports Center, choir concerts, conducting class and more. It wasn't until an SJSU Choir trip to New York in 2015 that sparks flew and memories were made, but they didn't become a couple until March 3, 2017. Jonathan and Leslie share a lot of the same passions; family life, food, fitness, music, sports, and more. And throughout the years, they began to grow more in love with each other's passions like music ministry and Broadway theater. After 6 years of dating, a time filled with lots of laughter, tears, travels, and our families becoming great friends, Jonathan proposed to Leslie on the evening of June 28, 2023, in Waikiki. They found their first home weeks after and now continuing their journey to the wedding. Getting engaged and becoming roomies is a new transition for them, but there's no one they'd rather go through life with than each other.
