6:00 pm
While the young whippersnappers are gathering for their bachelor/bachelorette events, I think my mom and some other adults will be hanging out at the Mexican restaurant that is attached to the Comfort Suites hotel in Ogden, to welcome any out-of-towners and enjoy some margaritas and/or tacos. I'm not 100% positive about this plan, so if you need to reach my mom, call her cell at 214-673-9244. Her name is Cathy, she is the intrepid wedding planner and she has a lot of information! (She's the one that made those welcome packets that many of you received.)
1:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Wear whatever you feel beautiful in :) We suggest something comfortable as well! High heels NOT recommended, as the ground in the barn is gravel, and the rest is grass. Cowboy boots very welcome; you'll be among Texans.
We will be hanging out all day & into the evening on a beautiful farm (in a barn as well as outdoors). Plan to eat beforehand if you arrive in the early afternoon, but in the evening we will serve a LARGE buffet-style dinner, cooked on-site in Dutch ovens by a very friendly & talkative cowboy! You are welcome to come & go as you please -- we just want to have as much quality time to celebrate with our loved ones as possible. More details about the timeline: - 10ish to noon-ish: set-up & decoration. - 12:30 PM: lunch available for family. - Lawn games & hanging out will probably begin around 1:30... I know the invitations said 3:00 but you're honestly welcome to come whenever. There may be some extra lunch food, but it would be a good idea to eat beforehand. - Approx 4:00 PM: KC & I will do our first dance and kick off the dance floor + bar area. Then we will take group photos with the wedding party & family. - 6-ish PM: Dinner! - After dinner: Toasts & cake, dancing into the night.
4:00 pm
Dress comfortably for a short outdoor ceremony (e.g. sundress for ladies, khakis and polo or button-down for men). Again, high heels are not recommended -- cowboy boots are :)
We will be having a small, intimate wedding ceremony in Arches National Park the day after our big reception. KC & I are both enamored with the natural beauty of southern Utah's deserts, and we both struggle with being the center of a lot of people's attention, so we decided we would like to take this opportunity for a peaceful, grounding, mini-destination wedding with our immediate family after we celebrate with all our many friends and extended family members. That said, anyone is welcome to come to Moab / Arches with us!! There will be an easy 10 minute walk on a flat but sandy/gravelly/slightly dusty path to & from the Double Arch site. There will not be seating available (except for the odd boulder), but the ceremony should only take 10-15 minutes maximum. After the ceremony, the bridal party will be taking group pictures at other locations within the park. Anyone is welcome to explore at their leisure, and we will be meeting back up at Moab Brewery at 8 PM for an after party!
8:00 pm
Wear whatever you got on
Following the little ceremony (and photos) in Arches, we'll be having a dinner / casual after-party at this great establishment that has a special little place in my heart (lookin' at you Natalie!). This is the last wedding weekend event -- it's gotta end sometime, right?
