Things To Do

Frank Lloyd Wright's Martin House Complex

125 Jewett Parkway, Buffalo, NY 14214
, (716) 856-3858

Considered to be one of the most important projects from Wright's Prairie School era, the Martin Complex ranks along with The Guggenheim in New York City and Fallingwater in Pennsylvania among his greatest works. Hi All - Leslie here. I would highly recommend visiting this place. If you've spent any time around me then you know how much I love FLW and this house is pure magic. I get goosebumps just typing about it!

Hiking the Eternal Flame

6766 Chestnut Ridge Road, Orchard Park, NY 14127

For our outdoors crew, this is a fun and easy hike that will showcase the fall foliage in a magical way. Leslie again! I would recommend getting 4-6 people together, renting a car and doing this hike if you have time. Also, my sister and her family might lead this hike so it would be a great time for you all to hang out with some awesome people!

Vera

220 Lexington Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14222
, (716) 551-6262

This place has some nice cocktails and great food. The first time John went to this bar with Leslie, he noticed all of the Fernet-Branca paraphernalia and expressed aloud his love of Fernet. The bartenders heard and shared a free shot of Fernet-Branca with him. Anyone with a love of fernet, Branca or otherwise, already has a reason to love this place.

Buffalo City Hall

65 Niagara Square, Buffalo, NY 14202
, (716) 851-4200

Dedicated in 1932, City Hall is an Art Deco masterpiece with outstanding murals in the grand lobby. To see “Windows on Buffalo”, take an elevator to the 25th floor and walk up 3 flights for a spectacular view of the Queen City! Nota bene - Closed Sat and Sun :(

Anchor Bar

1047 Main Street, Buffalo, NY 14209
, (716) 886-8920

Ask any Buffalonian which wing place is the best and you will surely get a few different answers. Whether it's Gabriel's Gate in Allentown, Duff's famous wings in Depew or where it all began at Anchor Bar--when you are in Buffalo you need to have wings. Nota bene - No one calls them Buffalo wings in Buffalo...because that's redundant. So when you do order wings, get 'em hot and order 'em right.

Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls, NY

Pro tip: see two falls for the price of one; look up the river at Canada's Horseshoe Falls.

Letchworth State Park

Letchworth State Park

1 Letchworth State Park, Castile, NY 14427
, (585) 493-3600

For those of you who love to hike and are making a vacation out of our wedding weekend, I would highly recommend visiting Letchworth State Park. Known as the Grand Canyon of the East, this state park offers three major waterfalls between cliffs--as high as 600 feet in some places-- and is surrounded by lush forests. Hikers can choose among 66 miles of hiking trails. Pro tip: You will need a car to get there since it's about an hour east of Buffalo.
