There is a short answer and a long answer to this question. Short answer: We want people to feel relaxed, enjoy a drink, mingle with friends and family, and get comfortable before the ceremony. Long answer: Some of you will fly in from long distances for only a short while to be part of our wedding day. Others will drive from down the street. Regardless of where you're from, we are your hosts. And a good host always offers guests and travelers a drink upon entering their house. Plus, we'd like to mingle with you before our ceremony, because why shouldn't we see each other before the ceremony?!
Since our venue is a country club, there is a dress code. Gents - suits, ties, collared shirts and dress slacks are appropriate. If you want to show off your bow tie skills, then go for it but denim is not allowed. Ladies - formal cocktail dresses, pantsuits/jumpsuits, blouses, skirts or slacks. Think, "I'm going somewhere fancy!" but make sure you can still dance in it.
Great Question! It's because they were invented in Buffalo, New York. Fun Fact - In Buffalo, they're just called chicken wings.
