Jockey's Ridge is the tallest sand dune on the east coast. It's been a Spotswood family tradition that Leslie continued with Brandon and Bodhi to visit the dunes every trip. Sunsets are a must in the Outer Banks and can't be beaten from the top of the dunes. If you are feeling adventurous, you can hang glide at Jockey's Ridge through Kitty Hawk Kites.
Check out the exhibits, aquariums, or go fishing.
Book a fishing charter or boat cruise. There are many out of Pirate's Cove, Manteo, and Wanchese.
One of our favorite restaurants in the Outer Banks.
A Spotswood family tradition from growing up was to head to Sam & Omie's following the trip to Jockey's Ridge. Best breakfast around. They do lunch and dinner as well.

Good pizza and a dive bar.
When in Duck, this is a must for dinner or watching the sunset at the back bar. Order the sweet potato and ham biscuits.
Located on the bottom floor of the Tranquil House Inn. This is a great spot to grab dinner or drinks and appetizers on the water if you are staying for a few days.
