Explore Bali

Bali has so much to offer, and we can’t wait for you to explore it! For the wedding, please stay in Uluwatu, but consider extending your stay in other areas like Ubud or Seminyak to experience Bali’s vibrant sights and culture. We’ve put together a list of our favorite experiences, including links to tours you can book in advance since June is peak season. To get around, we suggest using the Grab or Gojek rideshare apps or arranging a driver through your villa or resort. Enjoy every moment of your Bali adventure!

Ubud

Ubud is Bali’s cultural heart, known for its mix of scenic beauty and traditional Balinese culture. Take a day tour to see the Tegalalang Rice Terrace, take a stroll through the Sacred Monkey Forest, and enjoy a cool dip at the Tegenungan waterfall. You can also visit the Ubud Palace & Arts Market for a taste of local heritage. Click "View" to look at a guided tour that hits all the highlights.

Hike Mount Batur

Witness the sunrise over the clouds at Bali’s Mount Batur, an active volcano in Bali's central highlands, known for its stunning sunrise hikes. Trekkers can climb to the summit early in the morning to witness breathtaking views of Lake Batur and distant Mt. Agung. We can vouch that the 4am wake up is worth it! Click "View" to book a hike with a bilingual local guide.

Marine Life at Nusa Penida Island

Hop on a 45-minute boat ride if you want to squeeze in a day trip to Nusa Penida / Nusa Lembongan Islands. Snorkel or dive at Crystal Bay or Manta Point with the manta rays, coral reefs, and beautiful tropical fish. Fun fact: Leslie got scuba certified in Bali 5 years ago!

Relax: Beach, Massage & Yoga

Catch Bali's beautiful sunset along Seminyak or Canggu at a beach club (try Alila or the Lawn!), surf at Dreamland Beach Uluwatu, or kick back in Nusa Dusa at a pristine, white sand beach perfect for swimming. Treat yourself a relaxing Balinese massage -- check with your villa/hotel host if they have any nearby recommendations! Bali is a yoga paradise. From open-air classes in Ubud to ocean-view shalas in Uluwatu, you can find several studios linked below:

Try Indonesian Cuisine

Indonesian dishes use some of the most fragrant and flavorful ingredients we've tasted! Try to have at least one meal at a "warung", the local term for a small traditional restaurant or kiosk. Some of our favorite dishes you should try while in Bali include Nasi Goreng, Mie Goreng, Ayam Betutu, Ayam Panggang, Sate, and Beef Rendang. And you can't leave Southeast Asia without some tropical fruits such as mangos, durian (!!), mangosteens, rambutan, soursop, and dragonfruit!
