Our story begins like all great fairytales do, at a coffee shop. There was always a stronger connection than just a friendship that pulled us closer to each other, but we stayed friends through the summer while we got to know each other. There were countless conversations that brought us closer to each other, but what ended up being the game changer was music. Ashley made the first 'real move' when she made a playlist for Lesley. Those songs said what we were not ready to say out loud quite yet, but both felt. From there, inevitably our story of two became one. P.s.- Keep an ear out during the wedding, you will hear songs from our playlists play throughout the reception. :)
Lesley's proposal, as described by Ashley. To this day Lesley thinks I knew exactly what was up, but truly I was quite surprised. I always knew she wanted to ask me first. One of the sweetest things ever said to me was, "I want to ask you, because no one has ever let you know they are exactly on the same page as you are. You deserve to know when I am ready and that you are all I will ever want." Swoon, right?! Looking back, I should have known something was coming, she spent 2 days of our California vacation awkwardly being silent and trying to find strangers to take our picture at the "perfect" time. :) With that said, it could not have been more perfect, from the meteorite ring to the planetarium (Griffith Observatory), right down to the best spot on our hike overlooking the valley. As soon as she started to get on one knee, I fell to the ground with her. She nearly forgot to ask and I nearly forgot to say yes! We laughed so hard and my heart was beating so fast, it was one of my favorite moments of my life. All of her quirky sweetness rolled into one picture perfect moment. I fell more in love, forever started then. Ashley's proposal, as described by Lesley. I had absolutely no idea that it was coming. Even though, in hindsight, it was the most obviously perfect day. We had officially met a year ago on that day during a Starbucks volunteer event and reapeated it again this year. It was the first day of spring and the first warm day after a LONG winter.. well, long for the California girl at least. We decided on going to Pike Place market to grab flowers and see our charm. Let me back up, back in December, Ashley bought us a Pike Place market charm with our names engraved on it to hang there for the rest of time that was set to be installed early March... I know, I know, she's stinken adorable. So that day, we went to the market to grab flowers and find that charm. Little did I know that I would be walking away with a second charm from her asking me to marry her!
