Things To Do

Sidney Spit Ferry

9835 Seaport Place, Sidney, BC V8L 4X3, Canada

This would be a cute day trip if you’re in town for a few days. Make sure to pack all the sunscreen, food & water you’ll need for the day as there are no stores on this island. This was one of Leo’s favourite spots to camp & sail to as a child.

The Sidney Pier Hotel & Spa

9805 Seaport Place, Sidney, BC V8L 4X3, Canada

If you are looking for a Spa around Sidney. This is a good spot to unwind. Typically a spa treatment gives you access to their steam room as well.

John Dean Provincial Park

Dean Park Road, North Saanich, BC V8L 5E1, Canada

Pickles Bluff, within the park, is a great view point. Dean Park is located about 15 minutes by car from our venue. You can either drive up to the parks parking lot, and the bluff is about 5-10 minutes down the trail, or you can park near the access gate near the houses and take a trail there. This is a nice little hike which lasts about 1-2 hours depending on your pace & fitness level.

The Surly Mermaid

9851 Seaport Place, Sidney, BC BC V8L 4X3, Canada

This is a great spot in Sidney to grab a cocktail or some food. Their patio looks right at the Sidney marina and is locally owned.

The Butchart Gardens

800 Benvenuto Avenue, Brentwood Bay, BC V8M 1J8, Canada

This is a good option for high tea in Victoria. If you are planning on tea, it’s best to make a reservation. In the summer they do a fireworks show on Saturdays. This show can attract a crowd & costs a bit more than average admission. Best to go early if you are visiting on a Saturday.

Dallas Road

Dallas Road, Victoria, BC, Canada

Very scenic, close to beacon hill park and where the cruise ships dock. There is a smooth path that runs from cattle point to the breakwater that is excellent for walking, biking, running or skateboarding. The breakwater has a cute ice cream stand that sells espresso. Upstairs from the ice cream stand is a cafe as well. This is a good spot for breakfast if you don’t want to wait in long brunch lines.

Boom + Batten Restaurant & Cafe

2 Paul Kane Place, Victoria, BC V9A 7J8, Canada

This is a scenic spot for Happy Hour & food. Located right on the water & by a marina. There is a nice stroll along the harbour right outside as well.

Fisherman's Wharf Victoria

1 Dallas Road, Victoria, BC V8V 0B2, Canada

This spot is a classic Victoria stop; it can get kind of busy during the summer. There are colourful houseboats, restaurants, shops and whale watching all floating on this dock.

Fan Tan Alley

Fan Tan Alley, Victoria, BC V8W 3G9, Canada

This is one of Joe & Leo’s favourite shopping spots in the city. There’s a patisserie, bubble tea, bao, ramen, crystals & more nearby. Fan Tan is an iconic Victoria spot.

Sapphire Day Spa

714 View Street, Victoria, BC V8W 1J8, Canada

Leo’s favourite spot for a massage or Ayurvedic pedicure. There is free 1 hour parking across the street in the view street parkade.

Tapa Bar

620 Trounce Alley, Victoria, BC V8W 1K3, Canada

A great spot for dinner & a cocktail (and very affordable if you are sharing with friends). Probably the best sangria in town, and the best carrots in Dijon-butter sauce you will ever have! It’s good to get a reservation for larger groups.

Axe throwing in downtown Victoria.
