Well, we technically have known each other since high school. But sometimes the internet knows what you need better than you do. Jackie and Leo began talking on the dating app Hinge and the rest is history. We dated. Leo moved into Jackie’s condo with her and Glinda in Belmont. We moved home to spend some quality time with Denise (Jackie’s mom). We found our home on Anderson Road. We adopted Ollie Menezes. We got engaged and now we get married!!
This year we took our third trip to Acadia. We had initially planned a New Hampshire trip but as the summer came to an end the winds of Acadia began to call. We swapped our trip with two weeks to go, packed up both dogs and headed up North. After much conversation and many apologies that “I didn’t bring the ring”, Jackie was convinced that Leo’s plan for proposal would come mid-November, when we made things official back in 2020. We took the dogs up to Cadillac mountain in Acadia for sunset. The conditions were perfect - no wind, partly cloudy sky creating a beautiful sunset and the wild dogs had been placed back in the car to take a nap. We took a few selfies with the sunset behind us and in one photo Leo was holding up a small box. In confusion, Jackie looked at the box and saw Leo getting down on one knee. Leo asked “Will you marry me?” and in complete shock, with jaw wide open, Jackie said “yes!”
