Train
The subway system in New York is amazing, and much cheaper than taking a cab everywhere you go. I recommend downloading the NYC Subway app to view routes, schedules, and train connections. Our venue is in Brooklyn, at the Carroll Street stop on the F train (orange). The after party will be nearby in Brooklyn. PLEASE give yourself enough time to get where you're going! I would also recommend downloading Uber, Lyft, or Via (or all three to compare prices!) for a quick cab ride if you need it. Hailing a cab is not *always* as easy as it looks on TV.
Flight
You can fly into either LaGuardia or John F. Kennedy airports (Newark is also an option but is a bit more difficult!). Please be advised that travel to and from the airport does take some time and patience! I suggest downloading the “NYC Subway” app for a handy map on your phone. Google Maps is another helpful and accurate resource. Time estimates below are during rush hour. Please reach out to me for guidance if needed!
Flight
Bus/Subway – 1.5–2 hrs to Brooklyn Cab – 45 mins and $40–$50 to Brooklyn *Please note: LaGuardia is under construction! Plan for extra time getting to/from the airport* From LGA, you can take the Q70 bus to the Jackson Heights Roosevelt Av station—the first stop outside of the airport. A number of subway lines stop there that will take you to Brooklyn and Manhattan! You will need to buy a subway card at the airport to use the bus and subway ($2.75/ride). (From LGA, I recommend a cab.)
Flight
AirTrain/Subway – 1–1.5 hrs to Brooklyn Cab – 30 mins and $40–$50 to Brooklyn From JFK, hop on the AirTrain ($5) and take it to Howard Beach JFK stop. Transfer to the A train, going toward Manhattan (not the Rockaways!!). You will need to purchase a refillable subway card at the airport ($2.75/ride). For specific stops or transfers, please reach out to me! (From JFK, I recommend public transport.)
Hotel
There are a number of hotels around the venue and after party location, and we reserved blocks at a few. I would advise booking your room as soon as possible!! Airbnb is another solid option and may be more cost effective. If you want to stay in Brooklyn, try the neighborhoods of Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill, Gowanus, or Park Slope. If you'd like to stay in Manhattan, try booking a hotel or Airbnb near Rockefeller Center, Bryant Park, Madison Square Park, or Union Square. Those areas put you near a subway line that goes straight to the venue! Feel free to reach out to me with any specific questions!
