One of the best local ice creams in DC. Added plus, it is on the waterfront in the Navy Yard with great views and a nice walkway on the river.
Sidamo Coffee & Tea
One of our favorite coffee spots. Try the traditional Ethiopian coffee pot service. It's amazing!
Politics and Prose at The Wharf
We love the local bookstores. Steven and I can get lost here for hours!
John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts
Steven and I went to see "The Book of Mormon" here. Even if not seeing a show, the views of the city are amazing and worth checking out.
Landmark's Atlantic Plumbing Cinema
We love going here for a movie - there is a bar inside that serves delicious cocktails which can be brought into the movie theater.
Daikaya- Ramen (1F) - Izakaya (2F)
One of the best ramens in town! Get extra veggies on top. Believe me, it's worth it!
Baked & Wired
The homemade smores are to die for! All freshly made local pastries and made to order specialty coffees and teas. Fair warning, the lines to order can be a bit long. It is worth it, though.

Ben's Chili Bowl
Historic place in the city - a must see! Currently, DC is in the process of voting whether to change the street name to Ben's Chili Way. Yummy food as well - try the sausage with the chili. Yum!
Le Diplomate
Steven took me here for our first birthday celebration. The ambiance hearkens back to Paris' les annees folles.
The Coffee Bar
Great local coffee place where locals hang out to chat and enjoy coffee cocktails.
Rock Creek Park
The ghost of President Teddy Roosevelt is said to still haunt this park riding horseback at all hours searching for his head!
