Check out these favorite haunts from our time at Cal: - Henry's bar and restaurant is just off the lobby of the hotel. You'll likely find family and wedding guests here any time of day! - Platano has amazing Salvadoran food. - The Brazil Cafe. Get Pedro's tri-tip! - Mezzo has big salads and is right next to Raleigh's, a fun bar with a fireplace and large patio - Cheeseboard serves one type of pizza each day, always vegetarian. - Top Dog, La Burrita, and King Pin Donuts for late night bites. Perfect for after the wedding! - Caffe Strada is a great place to go for a morning brew. They invented the White Hot Chocolate! - Triple Rock Brewery serves Monkey Head beer only on Thursdays. - Victory Point Cafe. This board game cafe would be perfect for a rainy morning. - Chez Panisse. If you're feeling spendy, this is the place to see what farm-to-table California cuisine is all about. Both the cafe and restaurant require reservations made exactly one month in advance.
Don't miss a chance to walk through the historic Cal campus! Visit the gorgeous Doe Library and Morrison Reading Room (both open to the public), say hi to the T-Rex in the Valley Life Sciences building, wander through the Eucalyptus Grove where Joan Baez once performed, catch some a capella on Sproul Plaza and head to Sather Tower for the noon concert. There's always something happening on campus! The Koret Visitor's Center is up at the stadium. It's open 8:30-4:30 M-F and 9-1 on weekends.
Head up into the Berkeley Hills for gorgeous hiking and a variety of family-friendly activities. Ride the Steam Train and merry-go-round, feel the animals at the Little Farm, and head down south to the Lawrence Hall of Science for hands-on science activities for kids. There's also botanical gardens and a golf course!
