Please arrive by 4:30pm to enjoy a pre-ceremony refreshment and greet your fellow guests!
Find walking maps below: From Graduate Berkeley hotel at 2600 Durant: https://maps.app.goo.gl/rVSdm5DA6QvkcDnv5 From the Bancroft parking garage at 2651 Bancroft Way: https://maps.app.goo.gl/n8HhbB7KUorvDXKg6 If you'll be getting dropped off, cars can pull up pretty close to the east of the building at the end of Minor Lane. Do not park here as you may be towed.
Formal attire: suits, dresses, sequins, top hats, whatever makes you feel your best! We encourage you to consider your footwear carefully as you'll likely be walking about 5-10 minutes to get to the Faculty Club. And check the weather; the event will be indoors, but you'll likely want a jacket and maybe an umbrella.
We're welcoming kids that are traveling from out of town. This will be noted in your invitation. Please reach out if you are local and childcare will be a challenge. We will have a couple of babysitters on site with separate space to keep kids fed and entertained and give adults a chance to mingle and dance! They'll be available from 4:30-11, but parents can choose if they'd like children to join for the ceremony, cocktail hour, or post-dinner fun. Teenagers will be seated with adult guests at dinner.
There is paid parking available a 5-minute walk from the venue at the Bancroft Parking Lot (2643 Bancroft Way). We also recommend taking public transit or a ride share to the event! Find more information about parking on campus here: https://pt.berkeley.edu/parking/visitor-parking/lots-pricing If you are staying at the Graduate Berkeley, the easiest way to get to the venue is to walk (9 minutes).
The Graduate Hotel has overnight parking available for $37/night, but space is limited, so make your reservations early. The Telegraph Channing garage at 2450 Durant Avenue is very nearby the Graduate Hotel (a 5 minute walk). Pricing is variable to a max of $32 per night. There are over 400 spots here, so there should be plenty of space
We recommend renting a car only if you plan to extend your trip and visit wine country, Yosemite, etc. Otherwise, ride share or public transit will be easiest for you as parking can be challenging and costly. Check out our "Travel" page for more details. Quick note: property theft occurs in the Bay Area. Never leave anything (luggage, shopping bags, etc.) in your car.
Chilly and damp! Expect temperatures between 45 and 60 and bring an umbrella. That said, it's not unusual to have an unseasonably warm weekend early in the year, so check the weather as you pack. We could get lucky!
Andrew and Lauren have had visiting the Roosevelt Elk during rutting season on their bucket list for years! They camped at Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park last November. Sadly, they missed the height of the rutting season and were joined only by the remaining bachelor elk waiting out the winter together. But it had no impact on the fun the weekend had to bring– lots of cooking outdoors, hiking through the redwoods, and wrapping it up getting engaged by the campfire! Ask Andrew for the whole story. They designed the save-the-dates (and the invitations) themselves and Lauren carved the stamps using the blockprinting technique.
