FAQ's and COVID-19 Testing

We are striving to make this wedding as safe as possible. In addition to making this event entirely outdoors, we are asking guests to get a COVID-19 test prior to attending and with enough time to get results. If you will be with family leading up to this event, please consider the incubation period for COVID-19 when scheduling your test. Per the State of Maine's current Standing Order, anybody in the State of Maine can get tested, regardless of exposure or symptoms, without seeing a physician. Most major health insurance companies will cover the cost of testing. Please note that it can take up to 5 days to receive results from a PCR test. Rapid testing will also be available at select Walgreens locations in Maine, free of charge. More information on testing locations is available here: https://www.maine.gov/covid19/restartingmaine/keepmainehealthy/testing
Question

What other measures are you taking to ensure this isn't a "Super Spreader" event?

Answer

In addition to testing, guests will be assigned to "pod tables" of up to 6 people (we will coordinate with each of you on pod groupings). With the exception of eating, we ask that guests wear masks for the entirety of the event.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by December 1st, 2020.

Question

Do y'all want any presents?

Answer

No, we're very fortunate in having what we need.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Please dress warmly! Like, really warmly. Like, outdoor-winter-wedding-in-Maine warmly. For this occasion, warm > stylish (Leila, that's math). The bride will be wearing a gown and the groom will be wearing a suit and tie, but only because each will have layers and layers of wool beneath. Come in your snowsuits. Come in your sleeping bag (TWSS, SK). Just come warm (don't, SK).

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

In our effort to keep this wedding small enough for it to be safe, we sadly ask that alternate arrangements be made for children over the age of one. We are bummed about this and hope to connect with all of your children once this pandemic is over.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please let us know of any food allergies you have, and we will accommodate you!

Question

Can I participate remotely?

Answer

Yes! We will be live streaming the ceremony via Zoom for our loved ones who cannot attend the event. We will provide those details at a later date.

Question

Who will be in my pod?

Answer

We have a sense of who might pod with whom, but this might change as we get a clearer sense of who will be attending. We're hoping to communicate proposed pods by the first week in December. Be in touch if you have questions or preferences.
