Wedding Party

We have been truly blessed with the most amazing friends and family. Meet a few who will be walking down the aisle!

Margaret Brown

Maid of Honor

Have you ever met someone and you just click - someone who truly “gets” you? I have... sweet Courtney Leighton. Even though we’ve only know each other since our freshman year of high school, we’ve been inseparable since. We were the only two in our grade at SEG, choose to attend colleges just 20 minutes down the road from each other (despite those NC rivalries), and still live only 10 minutes apart. During our 2nd year of college, a cute boy named Austin Powell entered the scene. While there’s so many things that make Austin the perfect fiancé and soon-to-be husband for Courtney, I think what I love the most is that he doesn’t mind being the third wheel in the Courtney and Marge show. That being said, I can’t wait for all of the family dinners, casino nights, and crashed vacays to come!

Alex Calott

Best Man

Austin and I started out as competitors on the tennis courts of Mobile, AL at 14 years old. We ended up best friends. I have been blessed in life. In looking back there was always a constant..The best times of my life have been with A-train. Golfing in Pinehurst, hitting the open sea with Marc Anthony, HHI comedy clubs, and time in the airbus..the highlight reel has always been better when we’ve done it together! I’d argue, I know AP about as well as anyone, but one thing is for certain.. He is crazy about Courtney! I have seen them fall in love and they continue to complement one another. All a best friend ever wants, is for his wing-man to be happy. No one makes him happier than Court & his Holly girl. The future is so bright for you both! Thanks for letting us be part of the ride!

Hannah Sobhan

Bridesmaid

I met Courtney at NC State. She was my roommate, teammate and best friend for all 4 years. From 7am workouts to endless nights studying and partying and all the highs and lows- She was there. Someone said once that we “gel well”, and I couldn’t think of any better way to describe our friendship. It was freshman year after a party that Austin was at, when Courtney started her crush. We barely knew him, but she knew he was perfect, but thought “there was no way he would go for me”. Little did she know that he would be her forever. I always say good things happen to good people, and Courtney and Austin are good people. They go above and beyond for our friendship, and I am so thankful to have them in my life. I couldn’t be more excited for these two to spend their lives together.

Courtney and I grew up together in Church and we like to tell people we met around 5th grade. Anytime you saw one of us at church, the other was sure to be right around the corner. Some of my favorite memories come from Courtney’s club gymnastics meets where I was her personal hair stylist, and of course, her 16th Birthday Cruise with Victoria. We thought we were some hotttt stuff back in the day! I couldn’t be happier to stand beside one of my oldest friendships on the happiest day of her life!

I got to know Austin when we were 8 years old playing machine pitch all stars. I knew of him through friends and school but we had never hung out much. After that baseball season we were in the same 2nd grade class and that was the beginning of a lifelong friendship. We went on beach trips and chased girls around the neighborhood for the next few years before he moved to Florida for Tennis. He remained there throughout high school. We have stayed in touch since and never missed a beat.

Victoria Foster

Bridesmaid

I met Courtney in our Sunday School class at the church we grew up going to. We attended the same middle school and became very close during this time of our lives; constantly having sleepovers and even going on vacations together. I have been so fortunate to consider Courtney as one of my best friends all of these years. Fast forward to college, I remember Courtney texting our friend Carley and I about a boy she had been on a few dates with and seemed to really like. Courtney never really had a serious boyfriend growing up so this was a BIGGG deal. Said boy was in fact Austin, and I have never seen Courtney happier than she has been these past few years with Austin by her side. Courtney and Austin are both so deserving and I can’t wait to celebrate their happily ever after.

Bridesmaid

I met Courtney in middle school through gymnastics. Soon after meeting, we became inseparable. From practices, to concerts, and countless sleepovers, we were together EVERY day for endless hours. Throughout college, Courtney and I weren’t able to see each other as much as we had, but we would always pick right back up where we left off whenever we reunited. I remember Courtney telling me when she started dating Austin. Just the way she talked about him, I could tell they were meant to be. I hadn’t even met him yet, but I knew he was the perfect guy for Courtney. When I finally met Austin my thoughts were confirmed. He really was the perfect guy for her. I am so happy Courtney has found her forever love and I can’t wait to be a part of their special day!

I met Courtney by sheer coincidence on a weekend trip to Hilton Head. This was right after her ACL surgery, so mobility was pretty limited. We bonded over endless soup, salad, and breadsticks at Olive Garden. We became instant friends, because ya know “when you’re here you’re family”. Here we are 6 years later- through all the breadsticks, tough times, and celebrations, Courtney was and is always the one I can count on. Watching her and Austin’s love grow over the years has been a one of a kind experience. The happiness they bring to each other’s lives is unmatched, and I can’t wait for their big day!

Grayson Grainger

Bridesmaid

I met Courtney when we started our journey through physical therapy school.  We quickly bonded over way TOO many 5 am workouts, our love for shopping, and tons of study sessions at Starbucks. Even though I have not known her the longest, I am so thankful that God crossed our paths, for she is one of my closest friends.   The first time I met Austin, I remember thinking he was so friendly and easy to get along with.  Over the past two years, I have seen them grow together. I couldn’t have handpicked a better guy for Courtney than Austin.  They complement each other so well.  I am so excited to stand by her side and celebrate their love!
