Take a walk through the historic city market located in the heart of downtown Charleston. Established in the 1790s, the market stretches over four city blocks. Open Monday through Sunday 9:30am - 5:00pm
Walk or ride a bike along The Battery, where you will find lines of large Oak trees and some of the oldest, and most expensive, homes in Charleston. At the tip, you will run into white point gardens which dates back to the civil war era, where you can sit on a park bench and enjoy the beautiful views of the harbor.
Nothing defines Southern charm quite like King Street, and if you enjoy shopping, this is the place to do it! At more than 300 years old, King Street is the second most historically and architecturally significant street in downtown Charleston, after Meeting Street where you will find the city market. If driving, we recommend parking at the Wentworth Garage or Cumberland Street Garage.
Our absolute favorite brunch spot in Charleston! Located downtown in a beautiful renovated Victorian home. Fun fact: Poogan’s Porch is believed to be haunted by the ghost of Zoe St. Armand, a woman who owned the house in the early 1900s, and Poogan, its namesake pup. Maybe Zoe will visit you in the woman's upstairs bathroom where she is commonly seen, or you will feel Poogan brushing your legs under the table looking for scraps.
If you are looking for a locals spot, this is the place! Page’s Okra Grill combines simple Southern cuisine with the casual elements of traditional coastal seafood. This year, Page's was voted for best Bloody Mary and Mount Pleasant restaurant!
Hyman's is one of the most popular seafood restaurants in Charleston and has been at this location for 126 years. Throughout the restaurant, you will find plates hanging on the walls and brass plaques on the tables, with the names of musicians, movie stars, and other celebrities who have previously dined here. The portions are larger than most, so we love to split a platter filled with all the hushpuppies and coleslaw!
If you make it over to the beautiful Sullivan's Island, stop by Poe's Tavern for an AMAZING burger and great drinks! The restaurant is named in honor of Edgar Allan Poe and has a laid-back oceanfront atmosphere.
