NYC is SUPER easy to get around. If you aren't familiar with navigating the city, we recommend getting the CityMapper app (available from your phone's app store).

Travel Note

VENUE

The ceremony and reception will be held at The Ellington on Broadway. It is easily accessible off the 1 train at 103rd; you may find limited on-street parking, or use a garage; or take a car service (more info on travel methods below).

Travel Note

Accommodations

The majority of our guests are local, or will be staying with local family and friends. We will NOT be booking a hotel block. If you need to stay in NYC, we recommend booking a preferred hotel anywhere near the 1 train. If you need any assistance, please let us know. Please note: short term rentals (AirBNB etc.) have very specific regulations in NYC and may be difficult to find.

Travel Note

Getting Around: Subway

The Subway is the cheapest option to get around the city! You can use the Citymapper app, or visit the MTA website (https://www.mta.info/) to plan your trips. When using Citymapper, be sure to pay attention to the graphics indicating the best section of the train to be in for the best station exit for your journey.

Travel Note

Getting Around: Taxi

Hail a cab! The ubiquitous yellow taxi still rules the streets of New York. Taxis will always accept cash, usually accept credit cards or GooglePay/ApplePay, or you can use Curb. The Curb app will allow you to request a taxi like in a rideshare app, or you can use it to pay by pairing your phone once you're already in a taxi by entering the code shown on the cab's touchscreen into the app on your phone. (We suggest setting up the app and adding your payment method before starting your ride.) You can find information about NYC taxis here: https://portal.311.nyc.gov/article/?kanumber=KA-01245

Travel Note

Getting Around: Rideshare

Uber or Lyft, one's generally as good as the other in New York. However, before booking your ride, we recommend checking the pricing in both, as either can often be inexplicably less expensive than the other.

Travel Note

Getting Around: Driving & Parking

Guests who are driving themselves to the wedding may find street parking, or use a parking garage. We recommend using SpotHero to book a spot at your preferred garage, as you can often lock in a lower rate than you would get otherwise (note that some garages may charge an oversize fee on small and mid-size SUVs when booking through SpotHero but not necessarily if you were to just pull in to the same garage without a reservation). There is a nearby garage at 204 W. 101st Street (between Broadway & Amsterdam Avenue).
