The proposal came as a complete shock! Troy had planned on proposing two separate times before he finally did. The first time fell through because we didn’t travel anywhere for our vacation, and the second, well… I brought COVID home from a work conference and we were both sick. Finally, the week of August 27 rolls around and Troy said we should have a date night that weekend. So Saturday we went up Mount Washington on the Cog Railway. We walked around a bit, explored, and then ended up at a secluded area with no one around. Troy kept trying to get me to turn my back to the camera so he could take a picture, but I kept turning around. I finally stood still and next thing I knew, there was music playing. I turned around and he was down on one knee and asked me to marry him (and a whole lot of other sappy stuff). And him being the procrastinator that he is, he waited until 5 minutes before we were supposed to take the train back down! So unfortunately we don’t have any pictures on the mountain post-proposal, but we have plenty from before.
