Vickie and Gloria met on the first day of college and were freshman and sophomore year roommates. Though they both started out as Pre-Pharmacy majors, Gloria switched to Speech Language Pathology. However, both graduated together as professionals on the same day six years later! Vickie and Gloria shared all the ups and downs of college and most importantly, became Christians and were baptized together!
Cody Schulze
Best Man
Cody and James became friends way back in high school when Cody started regularly attending church where James’ family went. From playing soccer as freshmen and sophomores together to turning a 15-minute hike into a three-hour bushwhacking adventure through the underbrush in backcountry Ventura (which left us both with delayed poison oak that showed up two weeks later) and playing many hours of League of Legends together, they’ve stayed in touch through college and after.
Jodi Tai
Bridesmaid
Jodi holds the special titles as both sorority sister and sister in Christ with Gloria! They shared the joys and challenges as being believers and leaders in their sorority, Delta Delta Delta as well as Greek InterVarsity. The two also share the love of literature (Jodi published her own children's book!) and languages, and one day they will learn French together. After college, Jodi joined Gloria's brother Victor at University of Southern California for grad school to study law!
Shane Miller
Best Unmarried Man
The best (unmarried) man: Shane isn’t James’ biological, adopted, or step-brother, but when someone lives with your family for five years and you share a room for that time, they become your brother and family. A CSU Long Beach alum, you can find Shane at the beach spiking on those opponents foolish enough to get in his way on the volleyball court. Fun fact: Shane is incredibly lucky. After getting them lost on the way to see the LA Galaxy play Manchester United they showed up 7 minutes into the match and couldn’t get seats. They sat in the fire escape until a staff member told them they couldn’t sit there and took them down to the midline and put them in the front row. $500-dollar seats for $10!
Melissa Rathbun

Gloria met Melissa in 6th grade when they had the same classes. Their favorite class together was choir, which they took all through middle and high school. They performed in school musicals together and remember the long nights and hell weeks of rehearsals. They also shared sleepovers, scary movie nights, school projects, swim parties. Though they went to separate universities, the two have stayed close over the years.
Victor Lee

Gloria remembers that after opening presents on Christmas Day, her parents left for the hospital and returned with the best gift ever the next day! Gloria and James are so proud of Victor, who recently graduated from University of Southern California and is attending UC Irvine for medical school. They think he'd be the best Amazing Race partner, and once Victor finishes med school expect him and James to win it all! Fun fact: Victor shares a birthday with James' sister Noelle!
Nicole Yang
Bridesmaid
Nicole and Gloria shared all the same 6th grade classes and became closer friends on the soccer field. They made the perfect team, with Nicole as back center mid and Gloria as front center mid for several years. They also learned how to snowboard together, and Gloria's fear of roller coasters was cured when riding Medusa next to Nicole. The two friends still live in the cities of their universities but love getting together every chance they get.
Steven Boyd
Groomsman
James and Steven have been friends since middle school. They met in band, both of them playing the Alto Saxophone and have been friends ever since. Steven lives in Washington but they still manage to make time to grab breakfast, play a game of poker or catch a football game whenever were both in the same town. A Washington Husky at heart, you can find Steven on the slopes or on the trails. Fun fact: Steven is a killer cook and bartender.
Noelle Basta

James remembers the day his parents came home with his little sister, ending his ten year reign as only child. James is so grateful for this slightly late Christmas gift, and you can bet they've made the same jokes at some point or another. And now Gloria will finally have a long-awaited sister! James and Gloria are so proud of Noelle, who recently graduated high school and will be professionally figure skating on a cruise ship this November! Fun fact: Noelle shares a birthday with Gloria's brother Victor!
Kevin Lowe
Groomsman
Kevin is Gloria's cousin. A UC Berkeley Computer Science graduate, Kevin's one smart guy. Even though James and Kevin have not been friends for long, they shared a lot in common from the beginning. At family gatherings you can bet if they're not watching sports with the rest of the family then they're probably playing a card game called Magic the Gathering off in corner while everyone else just looks on in confusion. They've even had the chance to go to Los Angeles together to compete in a tournament of said card game. James and Gloria look forward to many more family dinners and escape rooms with Kevin.
