Our first year together❤️
Kayla found Lee by chance when perusing on her Hinge app. She felt an instant attraction and appreciated his profile, so she swiped right! Not too soon after, Lee returned the swipe, sparking the match! The two began messaging with an ease and comfort they hadn’t experienced before.
After just a couple short weeks, Kayla asked Lee out. They knew this was different the moment they met and spent 6 hours talking, laughing, and getting to know each other.
The two have endured so much in such a short time. Right after their first date, both ended up with the flu! This provided a unique experience and ability to learn so much about the other. The two couldn’t wait to see each other again once well. And spent that first NYE together with friends. 2023 was filling with commuting mid week to Howard Beach for weekly date nights at Gino’s, or the Cross Bay Diner. Sitting in parked cars like teens afterwards talking until it was time to part ways. Weekends alternated between both homes, spending time with each other’s families and friends that continued to feel more like each other’s own. Their first summer, Lee and Kayla traveled near and far on vacations. Their first trip, with family, was to Washington DC. Exploring the nations capital and monuments was unforgettable! Not to mention the DC Zoo! The two also traveled to Kayla’s favorite place, Lake George, where the two enjoyed the mountains and kayaking on the lake. Lee experienced his first roller coaster (and last!) during their trip to Hershey Park. The two enjoyed the zoo and amusement park, consuming chocolate (mostly Reese’s!) as much as possible. When Kayla graduated from University at Buffalo, the two used this opportunity to visit Niagara Falls and the Buffalo Zoo. Lee and Kayla have grown so much as individuals and as a couple. They bring out the best in the other, have taught each other so much about themselves and the world around them. Comfort zones have been tested and mastered, increasing vulnerability with the other. Their relationship is built on trust, honesty, communication, and simple acts of kindness that continue to show appreciation and love to one another. The two began planning their future pretty early on, and remain excited for all to come!
After over a year of commuting back and forth to Brooklyn and Island Park, it was finally time! Lee moved in and the two began their life truly as one. A house was made into a home, filled with so much love.
Kayla returned home from a work fundraiser event, opening the front door to a pathway of rose petals. Lee & Kayla’s song was playing from the TV with the music video. Kayla followed the trail, rounding the corner to the dining room where “I❤️U” was spelled out in rose petals. Kayla could see Lee through the lattice on the screen door, out on the deck and she walked to the door to open it. When she stepped outside, Lee was on one knee, opened the ring box, and asked Kayla to marry him! It was the easiest question, and the fastest decision, of Kayla’s life.
The rain held off as long as it could! The party was filled with so much love. Kayla and Lee appreciate all that were able to make it! A beautiful day in the yard with WAY too much food! So happy we got pictures taken before a torrential downpour struck moving the party indoors. Thank you to all who stayed late with us!
We cannot wait to celebrate us becoming the Zaccheo’s with loved ones!
