Entry into Greece

All travelers must complete their PLF before entering the country, providing minor detailed information of their stay while in Greece. In case of multiple stays, they are required to provide the address for the first 24 hours at least. One PLF should be submitted per family. Travelers will receive the PLF with their unique Quick Response (QR) code via email; keep this handy in order to present upon arrival. The PLF can also be found on the Visit Greece app and at travel.gov.gr. It is strongly recommended that all visitors download the Visit Greece app, prior their arrival in Greece. - All travelers are required to present a negative PCR test for Covid-19, performed up to 72 hours before entry to Greece - Fully vaccinated individuals may enter Greece without a PCR test if they present a vaccination certificate. Vaccination must be completed at least 14 days before arrival - Negative Covid test is required upon re-entry to US- The Athens Eleftherios Airport has these available!

Athens to Mykonos

The best way to get from Athens to Mykonos for most visitors is to take the ferry. Flying is fastest; flying time from Athens to Mykonos is 35 minutes, but this requires airport transportation and security check (the trip will take 2 hours on a high-speed ferry). The ferry is the cheapest way to get to Mykonos, but if flight tickets are bought far in advance the difference in price is not large. Search for flights on Kayak.com and for ferries on FerryHopper.com.

If Staying in Athens

Flying in and out of Athens and want to check it out for a day or two? The two best neighborhoods to stay in Athens are Plaka and Monastiraki. Both are largely pedestrianized areas that lie at the foot of the Acropolis, chock-full of great restaurants and shops, and within walking distance of most major sites. In addition to Plaka and Monastiraki, the areas of Syntagma, Koukaki, Kolonaki, and Psirri also offer a great mix of walkability, sightseeing, great restaurants, and easy transportation.
