Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

We recommend out of town guests stay at any of the hotels outlined on the Accommodations page. All of the hotels listed are within walking distance of the ferry port at Custom House Wharf in Portland.

Question

When should we book our accommodations?

Answer

Portland will be busy during Labor Day Weekend. We encourage guests to reserve their accommodations as soon as possible, and by the end of February 2023 if possible. This will ensure you receive the best rate and accommodations that fit your needs best.

Question

Where should we park on the Wedding Day?

Answer

If you are staying at a local downtown Portland Hotel, we highly encourage you to walk or take a rideshare to the ferry port at Custom House Wharf on Custom House St, Portland, ME. If you prefer to park, please use the Casco Bay Parking Garage.

Question

Is there a Wedding Day Ferry, and is there a Schedule for the House Island Ferry?

Answer

Yes, and we have arranged for privately chartered boats/ferries for our guests to take over to House Island on the Wedding Day. For the Full Boat Schedule, please visit the Boat Schedule + Travel Page on our website. At the conclusion of the Wedding, the private boats will pick all guests up at House Island and return everyone to Foggs Water Taxi where guests can either continue to the After Party or return to their accommodations for the evening.

Question

What are the attire suggestions?

Answer

Coastal cocktail attire for the Welcome Reception. Think Nantucket reds and collared shirts and colorful cocktail dresses. Formal Attire for the Wedding Day on Sunday. Think smart suits and ties, and long and polished dresses. When planning your attire for our Wedding Day, please consider the grassy grounds when selecting footware. Block heels, wedges and flats are recommended. There is a nice ocean breeze in the evenings on House Island, so we recommend bringing a light shawl or light jacket with you on the ferry over for the Wedding.
