Flight
There are 3 main airports to fly in/out of Ireland - Dublin Airport, Shannon Airport and Knock Airport. Dublin Airport is the closest airport to the venue and is around 1hr 10mins drive to Mount Druid. Dublin Airport is the most convenient for public transport. Alternatively, you can fly into the West of Ireland to Shannon Airport or Knock Airport if you're spending some time travelling around that side of the country before or after the wedding. Shannon Airport is around 1 hour 45mins drive to/from Mount Druid and Knock Airport is 1 hour 30mins. We recommend you only fly in to either of these airports if you intend on renting a car as there are limited public transport options from both.
Travel Note
There are two ferry options for those travelling from the UK who may wish to bring their car along: Holyhead to Dublin (1 hour 10 mins drive from Dublin to Mount Druid) Pembroke to Rosslare (2 hours 30 mins drive from Rosslare to Mount Druid) www.irishferries.com www.directferries.co.uk
Travel Note
If you plan on travelling around Ireland, we recommend that you hire a car. If you're landing into Dublin, Shannon or Knock you will have lots of options for car rental although there are more rental agencies operating out of Dublin. It is recommended that you book well in advance as although it's not peak season it can be a busy time of the year. www.carhire.ie www.irishcarrentals.com www.kayak.ie

The nearest train station is in Mullingar which is a 15 minute drive from Castletown Geoghegan. There is no direct train service from Dublin Airport to Mullinger, however, there is a train service from Dublin city (Connolly Station). Please see www.irishrail.ie. It runs every 1-2 hours and takes 1hr 20mins. Once you get to Mullingar, you can call a taxi to take you to Mount Druid. Contact Begleys Taxi on +35387 909 4494 or Caffrey Cabs on +35387 61 17777. There is no direct train or bus to Mullingar from Shannon Airport or Knock Airport. We do not recommend flying into either of these airports unless you are hiring a car.
