Question

HOW DO I BOOK MY STAY AT MOUNT DRUID?

Answer

Mount Druid offers a variety of onsite boutique accommodation options. Please email your accommodation request to hello@mountdruid.ie or alternatively you can call the office during business hours on +353 44 922 6679. Please refer to the 'Travel & Accommodation' page for more information. The team at Mount Druid will be delighted to assist with any queries you may have.

Question

DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING IF I’M STAYING OVERNIGHT AT MOUNT DRUID?

Answer

Yes – PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR OWN TOWELS AND TOILETRIES. There are numerous shared showers and toilets close to all glamping units for those who are staying onsite. As there are no charging points in the onsite properties, we recommend bringing a power brick along to charge your devices.

Question

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?

Answer

The dress code is semi-formal so smart but somewhat casual. The vibe at Mount Druid is fun and laid back so anything goes - suits, blazers, ties, dickie bows, bright colours, sequins, fascinators, hats - you do you! Remember September in Ireland can be a bit chilly so you may need a jacket.

Question

WILL THERE BE TRANSPORT ONSITE AT MOUNT DRUID?

Answer

All venue locations onsite are within walking distance of each other and there are also pathways, which are lit up at night. Mount Druid also has large carparks to service both The Tin Chapel and The Barn. If you're staying in Mount Druid, there will be a courtesy bus that will shuttle guests around the property on the day and drop guests back to their accommodation onsite when the partying in The Barn stops.

Question

WILL THERE BE PARKING?

Answer

Yes! There is lots of parking available throughout the venue and it's free. Each unit of accommodation also has a parking space beside it.

Question

WILL THE WEDDING CELEBRATIONS BE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE?

Answer

Ceremony, drinks reception and dinner and dancing will all be indoors, unless the Child of Prague performs a miracle! All locations will be heated, if necessary. The Mount Druid courtesy bus will transport us the short distance between venues if it rains but feel free to bring an umbrella.

Question

WHO IS THE CHILD OF PRAGUE??

Answer

This statue of the baby Jesus is found in almost every Irish household and holds our meteorological fate in his tiny plaster-cast hands. Superstition dictates that if you put the Child of Prague in the bride's garden before your wedding, you'll be blessed with sunshine on your wedding day. According to tradition the power of the statue is strongest if its head has been knocked off — but this has to happen accidentally!

Question

WHAT IF I HAVE A DIETARY REQUIREMENT?

Answer

That's no problem at all - join the club! If you haven't already, please let us know if you'd like a vegetarian or vegan meal. If you have any allergies or other requirements, please include a note so we can pass this along to the kitchen.

Question

WILL THERE BE A CASH BAR?

Answer

Yes, there will be a cash bar. We will be providing several drinks throughout the day and evening, including reception drinks and wine during the dinner, but outside of these hosted drinks, there will be a full cash bar available, along with debit/credit card machines in all venues BUT this is rural Ireland and sometimes the machines go down so it might be best to bring some cash.

Question

IS THERE A LOCAL TAXI I CAN CALL?

Answer

Begleys Taxi +35387 909 4494 Caffrey Cabs +35387 611 7777

Question

ARE KIDS INVITED?

Answer

As much as we love kids, this is a child free event apart from our bridal party. We hope you can find a babysitter and let your hair down for the night!

Question

WHAT ABOUT GIFTS?

Answer

Please do not feel obliged to bring a gift, all that we are expecting is you. If you would like to contribute to our honeymoon fund, it would be greatly appreciated, however, we understand that people are travelling from far and wide so please know it is not expected.

Question

WHAT TIME IS CHECK-IN AND CHECKOUT AT MOUNT DRUID?

Answer

Check In: 3pm onwards on Friday, September 22nd if staying Friday night OR 11am onwards on Saturday, September 23rd Check Out: 12pm on Sunday, September 24th

Question

WILL THERE BE BREAKFAST THE DAY AFTER THE WEDDING?

Answer

For those staying at Mount Druid, you have the option of having a full Irish breakfast the morning after the wedding. Breakfast is €15 per person and will be served from 9:30am - 11am in The Barn. For those staying in Mount Druid on the Friday night, breakfast rolls and tea/coffee will be served in The Barn at 10am on Saturday morning. The Forge Café also serves coffee and pastries from 10am. There is also a convenience store in the village should you require any snacks.

Question

WHERE WILL I CHARGE MY PHONE?

Answer

There are no charging points in the accommodation units so we recommend bringing a power brick along to charge your devices. We will also have charging stations set up in the reception areas and throughout the property over the weekend so fear not, you are not going off grid!

Question

WHERE CAN I DO MY HAIR??

Answer

While there are no sockets in the glamping units, there will be a 'Powder Van' onsite for all the ladies (and gents!) who may wish to blow dry or straighten their hair before the ceremony. There is a hairdresser in the village for those who may wish to book in. Contact Sandra Garvin on +353 8794 03387 or sandragarvinhair@gmail.com. There are also numerous hair salons and makeup artists in Mullingar which is 15 minutes drive from the venue.

Question

WHAT IS THERE TO DO IN CASTLETOWN GEOGHAN?

Answer

Castletown Geoghan is a small village just outside the grounds of Mount Druid. Despite its small stature, like all good Irish villages, it has more pubs than people (slight exaggeration!) and a convenience store which is open until 9pm should you need anything during your stay. Mullingar is 15 minutes drive from the venue if you need a chemist or anything that cannot be found in the village.

Question

WILL THERE BE DAY TWO ACTIVITIES?

Answer

As many of our guests will be travelling home on Sunday, we will not be hosting an official day two event, however, we have booked a few tables at The Forge Pizzeria & Café in Castletown Geoghan for those who would like to pop in for coffee or lunch or to say goodbye before they hit the road. For those who are not travelling home until Monday, there are quite a few guests staying in Bloomfield House Hotel in Mullingar on the Sunday night and you are welcome to join. This hotel is 15 minutes from the venue and has a restaurant, pool and spa. We may also hit up the pubs of Mullingar depending on how much energy we have left after the big event! https://www.bloomfieldhousehotel.ie/

Question

WHEN DO I NEED TO RSVP BY?
