I first met Leandrea at my home church, Peniel. A mutual friend had invited her to one of our annual youth events, and I almost didn’t make it that night. I had just come from a school event, The Punch Out and was, debating whether or not to show up. But I remembered our friend had specifically asked me to come so she could introduce me to someone special. I didn’t want to disappoint her or show up in bad form so I got myself together. When I finally arrived and saw Leandrea, I was immediately taken aback. She was absolutely stunning. I think she had just done the big chop, and it only added to her beauty. We exchanged numbers that night, and from there, things naturally unfolded. We started texting nonstop, getting to know each other little by little. I remember the first time I went to see her at work, she was at the Gap. Something about just being around her felt easy and right. I was drawn to her spirit, her energy, her soul. And what made it even more special was that she was genuinely trying to get to know me, just as I was getting to know her. It felt mutual, real, and full of promise. It was the beginning of something meaningful.
It was May 2, 2015, the same night Mayweather beat Pacquiao! I had no idea that evening would change my life. A good friend invited me to her church’s youth service and introduced me to Pierre. From the moment we said hello, there was a calm, kind energy about him that I’ll never forget. He was thoughtful, sincere, and had the warmest smile. I didn’t know it then, but I had just met the man who would become my best friend, my greatest supporter, and the love of my life. It’s been 11 years since, and through every season, Pierre has been right by my side. He’s patient, steady, and full of love. I’m so thankful for that night, and even more thankful for the journey we’ve shared ever since. I can’t wait to walk down the aisle and step into the next chapter with Pierre.
