We're Getting Married!

We connected on the dating app Hinge. Eric described himself as a nerdy scientist who loved to play games. Leah's profile described her as being an avid reader, loving to travel, and eager to taste new foods. She also mentioned the board game Settlers of Catan. This was just the prompt that Eric needed... After texting back and forth for a few days, they quickly went on their first date in the post Covid vaccinated world (in-person!). It was filled with laughs and good food, leading to a second date that was much later because Eric was immediately leaving for a trip to Hawaii the next day. From minigolf and bowling, to more dinners and cocktails, they quickly decided to be exclusive.

As many of you may know, we periodically watch our family dog Lulu for long stretches of time. We both love having her around and always look forward to her visits. So Eric decided a perfect way to surprise Leah with a proposal was to include Lulu. After meticulous planning behind Leah's back with the help of her parents, a ring box was attached to Lulu's collar for when she would be there to greet us at the airport. In the rush to get inside the car, Leah barely noticed that Eric was down on one knee at the curb of the arrivals gate. Some would say it was a scene straight out of a movie. Once she realized what was happening she couldn't stop smiling and of course said yes!
