Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The wedding attire will be anywhere from semi-formal to formal. What does this mean? A jacket and tie, traditional suit, elegant dress or pantsuit would be appropriate. Most of all, we want you to wear what you feel comfortable in! Keep in mind the ceremony will be on a grass lawn so you will have to be careful if you wear stiletto heels.

What will the weather be like?

Answer

The ceremony will be outdoors (weather allowing) beside the lake at 6pm, so make sure to dress accordingly. Average high temperatures around mid-September in Connecticut are usually 70-80 degrees (Fahrenheit), but may be a bit cooler later in the day, with the breeze off of the lake.

What COVID-19 protocols are in place?

Answer

Out of an abundance of caution, we strongly encourage all guests get a covid test within 48 hours before attending the wedding so we can all stay safe and have a good time! The town of Brookfield has lifted mask mandates (so everyone can decide for themselves if they would like to wear a mask), and our venue does not have restrictions at this time. The ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors (weather permitting), and the reception will be indoors. Also, if you are feeling sick on our wedding day, we ask that you please let us know and stay home for everyone's safety.

Will there be transportation between the hotels and venue

Answer

Yes! Read the Travel page to see details but there will be a shuttle taking guests from La Quinta at 4:40pm to the venue and from Hampton Inn at 4:55pm and 5:35pm. At the end of the night there will be two return rides at 11pm and 12am which will both to from Candlewood to La Quinta and the Hampton Inn.
