Lodging & FAQs

The Wedding Website of Leah Stinson and Ryan Brophy
Question

Where is the wedding?

Answer

We are getting married at a Salt Lake City ski resort close to our hearts: Alta! Specifically, at Alta Lodge.

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

We hope you will stay with us up at Alta! Most of our guests will be staying at Alta Lodge itself. As of 4/2026, the hotel block is full, and we are arranging overflow at the hotel next door, called the Goldminer's Daughter. These rooms will be available in May. Alta Lodge has a lot of stairs and is at 8,500 feet, so we understand if you are more comfortable staying in town. Because there is room for all of our guests at Alta Lodge, we have not booked another hotel block in town. A couple of hotels close to our venue include Courtyard by Marriott in Cottonwood Heights (https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/slccw-courtyard-salt-lake-city-cottonwood/overview/) and Hampton Inn Cottonwood (https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/slccw-courtyard-salt-lake-city-cottonwood/overview/). A favorite upscale downtown Salt Lake City hotel is The Grand America (https://www.grandamerica.com/).

Question

How do I book my room?

Answer

As of 4/2026, our wedding block at Alta Lodge is full. We are arranging overflow rooms at the hotel next door, the Goldminer's Daughter. These rooms will be available to book in May. Call Alta Lodge at (801) 742-3500 and ask for reservations for the Stinson-Brophy wedding.

Question

When should we come and how long should we stay?

Answer

Alta Lodge is reserved for only our guests from Friday 7/31 to Sunday 8/2, however, there will be rooms available for you from Thursday 7/30 to Monday 8/3 if you need more time to explore the beautiful Wasatch Mountains.

Question

How should we get to Alta Lodge?

Answer

We recommend flying into Salt Lake City International Airport, which is a 45-minute drive from Alta Lodge. We recommend renting a car or car pooling to get to Alta Lodge.

Question

Are our children invited?

Answer

We love your children, but because our venue has a very strict headcount limit, we are only having our nieces and nephews at our ceremony, reception, and dance. Your children are of course welcome at Alta Lodge for the weekend.
