Getting to South Lake Tahoe
Reno (RNO) is the closest major airport for those flying. Reno is an 1hr and 15 min drive to South Lake Tahoe. Alternatively, flights into Sacramento (SMF) are a 2hr drive from South Lake. For those flying into Reno, the South Tahoe Airporter offers a $35/person shuttle from Reno to the South Lake Tahoe (SLT) area. This is far more affordable than a rideshare or taxi! All of the drop-off locations offered in SLT are casinos on the Nevada side, with Caesar's and Harrah's being the two closest. All drop-off locations are a 10 minute drive into town and an 18 minute drive to our venue. From your drop-off point, you can use a rideshare or taxi service or we can try and coordinate a pick up if someone is available! It's one of the most direct routes from Southern CA and will also be one of the most beautiful drives you'll ever take. Camp Richardson
Camp Richardson is walking distance and right next door to our venue (Valhalla). Camp Richardson has many options at various price points through their historic hotel, cabins, and tent/trailer camping is also available. If you're staying at Camp Richardson, you can opt to walk to/from the wedding venue instead of coordinating a taxi or ride-share. Camp Richardson is hosting their 2025 Oktoberfest 10/4-10/5, if you're looking to stay at Camp Richardson - we recommend not waiting to scoop a spot!
House Or Rental
Airbnb, VRBO, & Private Rentals
There are many great Airbnb, VRBO, and other private rentals available in South Lake Tahoe. Please verify the distance to/from your rental to the venue (Valhalla Tahoe: 1 Valhalla Rd, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150) before booking as some search results might appear for the other end of the lake! Airbnb/rentals are a great option for more space, though we've found hotels to be more cost efficient in South Lake Tahoe.

Parking & Rideshares

Overnight parking is not permitted inside Valhalla's gated lot. However, there is a dirt lot outside the gate on the main road where cars can park overnight. If you're planning to drive to the wedding and take a rideshare home, please text Leah or Noah and we can share a pin for the dirt lot. Rideshare availability is lower in South Lake Tahoe; if you're planning to use a rideshare (Uber or Lyft), we recommend scheduling rides ahead of the event. Taxis are a great option as well and may be more reliable! Check out Sunshine Taxi, which operates out of SLT and Stateline: https://sunshinetaxi.com/taxi-service/ If you're staying at Camp Richardson, the venue is walking distance!
