Travel Note
Parking is free at the Kraken Community Iceplex. The Hilton Homewood Suites hotel charges $33 per vehicle per day. Street parking is generally easy to find near the Queen Anne Beerhall/Hilton area, with a 5-hour limit during fee hours. I contacted the City of Seattle to inquire about hours and rates. There is an event at the Climate Pledge Arena on the day of the wedding, which will cause event rate parking fees to kick in from 2:00-7:00PM ($3/ hour for the first 2 hours and then $8/hour). After 7PM, the parking rates go back to ‘normal’ (50 cents/hour), and parking should be free after 8PM with no time limits (and free on Sunday). These are the figures I was told by the City, but paying for parking (and figuring out rates) is really easy using the Pay by Phone app (linked below).
Shuttle
February 12, 2022 3:00 pm - 6:45 pm
We have two 56-person shuttle buses running from the hotel to the Kraken Community Iceplex for the ceremony, and back for the reception. Plenty of room for everyone, and we are running both shuttles twice each way on the schedule below: Departing Hilton Homewood Suites - 206 Western Ave W, Seattle, WA 98119 3:00PM and 4:00PM February 12, 2022 Departing the Kraken Community Iceplex - 10601 5th Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98125 5:45PM and 6:45PM February 12, 2022
Hotel
Right next door to the reception hall. All units have in-suite kitchens and sofa beds. Use the link below or call the hotel directly to access the SCHMIDT-SKINNER wedding block. (Feel free to check around for cheaper rates online. The block offers competitive suite rates, but 3rd party sites sometimes do offer cheaper prices).
Hotel
A second hotel option, a slight walk from the reception hall. We do not have a room block at this location.
Train
The Link runs from the airport through downtown Seattle and all the way up to our ceremony venue at the Kraken Community Iceplex (Northgate Station). A great way to travel cheaply within the city. Note: the reception/hotel area is not directly located on the Link route, so you'll need to transfer to the monorail, a bus, or a rideshare (ie. Uber, Lyft) downtown to get there. Still a much cheaper option than taxiing all the way from the airport or renting a car.
Train
This is a good option for (light packing) folks who want to stretch their legs and see some sights on their way from the airport to the hotel. The Seattle Monorail connects Westlake Station (Link Light Rail) to the Seattle Center Station (a 13 min walk to the hotel area). The famous Space Needle sits within Seattle Center.
Travel Note
For areas not serviced by the Link Light Rail, the King County Metro bus system is the cheapest way to travel.
