FAQs

Please feel free to reach out with any questions, and we'll add the answers to this list.
Question

Do guests need to be vaccinated and/or tested for COVID19?

Answer

In compliance with King County requirements, our venues require that all guests either be vaccinated against COVID19 or have a negative test for COVID19 within 72 hours of the event. https://www.krakencommunityiceplex.com/venue/about/faqs/covid-protocols/ https://kingcounty.gov/depts/health/covid-19/current-guidance/~/media/depts/health/communicable-diseases/documents/C19/LHO-proof-of-vaccination.ashx

Question

Will masks be required?

Answer

Current regulations require masks indoors when not eating or drinking, so please be prepared to wear a mask.

Question

Do we have to rent/bring our own skates?

Answer

Skate rentals are included in our contract and will be free of charge to our guests (both figure skates and hockey skates). We will have seating for audience members in the bleachers, and microspikes for non-skating party members to wear during the ceremony. There will be a free skate period after the ceremony for anyone who wishes to get on the ice.

Question

Are we seated in the Penalty Box if we don't bring a gift?

Answer

We are putting our parents in the penalty boxes, so they may be a bit full ;).

Question

What will the menu be?

Answer

A Bavarian feast will be served buffet-style throughout the reception period. Please let us know (via your RSVP or other means) about any dietary restrictions we should be aware of. We've alerted our venue about dietary needs and requested for menu items to be labeled for allergens. Housemade Pretzels Green Salad Cougar Gold Mac N Cheese Chicken Wings: Buffalo, Honey Mustard, Jalapeño Pulled Pork Sandwiches Bratwurst Dogs Vegan Beyond Sausage Dogs Dessert Pretzel Bites And, of course, the famous McDonnell family cupcakes :)

Question

Will there be assigned seating?

Answer

No, we are leaving the seating arrangements up to our guests, according to their comfort level with physical distancing. Both of our venues have capacities far above our guest count, so there should be enough space to spread out. At the reception, there will be long wooden tables and some smaller high-top tables for guests to sit and eat at.
