They are located in City Park, and have over 40,000 objects in their collection, ranging from French and American art, photography, glass and African and Japanese works. The 12-acre sculpture garden is one of the most important sculpture installations in the US, with over 90 sculptures.
Expansive, interactive, award-winning museum located just outside the French Quarter. The museum focuses on the American contribution made by the US during WWII. It is a Smithsonian Institution affiliated museum and has been designated by congress as America’s official National WWII Museum. Highly recommend for any history buffs.
Unfortunately, we’re missing the festivities of Mardi Gras, but you can still visit Mardi Gras World to get up close and personal with the floats and see how they are made! The museum will give you a brief history of Mardi Gras, then you’ll head to the float den, where you’ll see where the artists’ work year-round to build the floats and props.
