What is the weather like in August?
Answer
We'll be at over 5,000 feet elevation. Most places do not have air conditioning because the Summers remain cool. You can expect mid-70s during the day, but the temps drop some at night as low as the 50s so plan to bring a sweater!

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?
Answer
There is some parking available for the ceremony. But PLEASE do not drink and drive. These are mountain roads. We will have provided transportation from the Pinnacle Inn to the venue and back.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?
Answer
Yes, if you have special dietary needs, please let us know with your RSVP.

Is there a dress code?
Answer
No, we want you to be yourself and be comfortable! We have suggested a cocktail attire or semi-formal for the wedding. Keep in mind the ceremony will be in the grass (weather permitting) and the floors of the venue are concrete. Be sure to wear your dancing shoes!

Where should I stay?
Answer
The Pinnacle Inn (see travel section of our website)! This is where we will be staying and where we'd love to have most of our guests. Most of the units have their own kitchen and sleep 2-6 guests. We'll be providing transportation from this location on the day-of. These are all individually owned condos. We suggest you search for three star or higher. There are also many of these condos listed on AirBnB and VRBO. You could also book a house or condo elsewhere, but please keep in mind transportation will not be provided from those areas. Please try to book soon, the Summer Season is a busy time at Beech Mountain!

Can I bring my kids?
Answer
While we very much love your littles, unfortunately due to space limitation, we request you leave them at home or with a sitter on the night of the wedding. We hope you will make it a date night to remember! The only children attending the wedding and reception are those who are family. If you choose to bring the kids along for a weekend or family vacation, and you need help with finding child care the night-of, please let us know and we will do our best to assist.

The closest grocery to where we'll be staying is Food Lion about a 20 minute drive. Their Address: 3555 Tynecastle Hwy, Banner Elk, NC 28604

So what's the difference between Banner Elk and Beech Mountain?
Answer
Beech Mountain is past Banner Elk, and about 1000 feet higher. It is about a 15 minute drive down the mountain to Banner Elk. Banner Elk has a cute downtown with Lees McRae College, shopping and restaurants. Beech Mountain is where you'll find lots of outdoor activities. There are a few cute restaurants as you make your way up toward the ski slopes. Where we will be staying at the Pinnacle Inn and our venue, Overlook Barn are at the base of Beech Mountain.
