We met our first year at UW-Oshkosh in 2009 through mutual friends. We chatted about music and Pitchfork.com. We didn't see each other again until 2013 when we both were in the same education class. Dan told the class about this book LMNO. After class I told him about a book called C D B where sentences are formed by just saying the letters out-loud. A couple days later we ran into each other out in Oshkosh and later he asked if I would like to get a drink, just the two of us. There was a pizza place that was great for a late night meal. He bought me a shirt, which we would end up collecting them all, and on our first official date to New Moon, I wore the same shirt he bought for me.

We were visiting Dan's family for Christmas when we decided to take a trip back to Oshkosh to see our old stomping grounds. We drove downtown then to Menominee Park where we would spend a lot of time there in the summer. Since it was so cold the lake was frozen and we were watching the cars drive on the ice setting up or entering their shanty. We drove to a peninsula that went about 300 feet out into the lake. We have been there several times either biking or walking and we wanted to feel like we were walking out to the water. We walked about 100 feet and had to stop because it was so cold. We were shielding each other from the wind when Dan asked if it would be too cold to remove my glove. As I removed my glove Dan got down on one knee and hand the ring in his hand and asked, "Will you marry me?" I said, "Yes, course of!"
