How We Met

In the Fall of 2017, we met on a pair of weekend camping trips to the New River Gorge in West Virginia. The trips, which were organized by the Outdoors Club at UVA, started with a long, beautiful drive from Charlottesville, Virginia into the mountains and featured rock climbing, hiking, and a bit of partying. As we each finished our final year of school, we fell in love and we've been taking long, beautiful drives together ever since. As you travel to our remote wedding in the mountains of British Columbia, we hope you'll be able to enjoy the long, beautiful journey as well.

Canada!?

Yes, and we do realize it is a bit ridiculous. After spending 2022 on the road exploring America and thinking about where we wanted to live longer term, we fell in love with the Pacific North West. We moved to Seattle in 2023 and decided we wanted to plan our wedding out west and bring all the people we love to this new home of ours. Well - finding a place that was intimate, outdoorsy and not a part of the "Wedding Industrial Complex" as Colin would say, proved more difficult than expected. We didn't intend to look into Canada, but once we found this small, charming, mom and pop run lodge in the woods we realized it was just the kind of low key venue we were looking for. Known for it's pristine nature, the little time we have spent in British Columbia has been incredible. Whether it's Vancouver Island, the city itself, or the mountains up near Whistler - we hope you'll extend your trip by a few more days and make this a trip to remember.
