Wedding Party

Alyssa "Tina" Bair

Bridesmaid

Tina and Layne were always destined to be friendly acquaintances because of their older siblings, but did not anticipate how quickly they would click and become the best of friends. Since their first hangout, Tina and Layne have been inseparable–besides Tina's 18-month mission on the opposite side of the country. From the moment they met, Tina has been one of Layne's most loyal and dedicated supporters, and her favorite person to pull an all-nighter binge-watching Survivor with.

Tag Stapley

Groomsman

Tag and John met while on the same basketball team. No man possesses a smoother layup package than Taggart Stapley. His silky moves on the court are rivaled only by his ability to move his body in the art of dance. These two qualities, partnered with his vast knowledge of Harry Potter, always make time spent with Tag a magical experience. He has rewatched the final wizard battle in Order of the Phoenix about 348 times.

Kate Thomas

Bridesmaid

Kate and Layne's friendship blossomed once they realized that they shared a mutual lack of responsibility when it came to avoiding sweets and getting enough sleep during track season. Although they never did figure out how to go to bed on time the night before a grueling workout, they have mastered a series of other skills together, ranging from BYU Sprints Instagram takeovers to twerking on a gas pump. One of Layne's favorite places to sleep is in Kate's cozy, queen-sized bed.

Tyler Hatfield

Groomsman

Ty has been a fan of movies his entire life–he just never knew that he would be an even bigger fan of watching movies with John and some delicious Taco Bell. While their brotherhood may have started through tormenting middle and high school math teachers together, the combo of Ty and John is sure to bring a fantastic time to any gathering outside of school. He will also carve up a wave more than your Thanksgiving turkey.

Annalise Hart

Bridesmaid

Throughout their time as teammates at BYU, Anna was Layne's training partner that doubled as her track role model. Layne's only qualm with Anna is that, during their first year of running together, Anna got injured so Layne had to train for the 400 by herself. Layne's fondest 4x400 relay memories are those in which she got to pass the baton to Anna, and her favorite way to spend the morning is catching up with Anna in the training room.

Zach Ricks

Groomsman

Zach and John have been pals since the old days of Prescott Basketball Camp. Even though Zach was questionably awarded the Hustle Award over John the summer before 8th grade, he makes it up to him by carrying him to victory when they're paired up in golf tournaments. As if this wasn't enough, Zachary is blessed with the voice of an angel, and can sing the crap out of most Les Mis songs.

Mary Claire Stoelzing

Bridesmaid

Mary Claire has been one of Layne's dearest friends since her freshman year of high school. Considering they played the same position on the high school soccer team and were nicknamed "the turboblasters," it is evident that they have always had a deep connection. Throughout their teenage years, Mary Claire and Layne could oftentimes be seen reenacting The Phantom of the Opera or dressing up in their brothers' basketball shorts instead of going to parties like the rest of their friends.

Matthew Clark

Groomsman

After meeting on Google Buzz, Matt and John quickly became friends after overtaking the photo booth on the Clark family's Mac computer. Even though they no longer make WWE wrestling videos anymore, you can catch Matt showing his athleticism on the dance floor. Even with a busted knee. In his downtime, Matt thoroughly enjoys creating finance videos on YouTube. Here's the link if you care to learn more: https://www.youtube.com/@matthewclark4296

Kate Stafford

Bridesmaid

Kate is the kind of selfless friend that would let Layne play the protagonist while she was the evil villain in the homemade scary movies the girls would create during high school. The two friends have bonded over how, despite appearing like very different people on paper, they have always been there for and supported one another since 2016. Kate's tendency to pee her pants after laughing too hard demonstrates an enthusiasm for life that has made her friendship so uplifting to Layne.

Thomas Hatfield

Groomsman

With hands as blessed as his, Tom was always destined to become a change for good in the world one way or another. Although he has chosen to use his steady hand for change through his becoming a doctor, he would have much more success if he chose to continue the band that he started with John. Their hit single, "Come On Be My Lover", was unfortunately prohibited from releasing after their lead singer bailed. While the band may be broken up, Tom still uses his creative juices to plan parties like you've never seen.

Courtney Clark

Bridesmaid

Coco and Layne were once told that "caffeine would only slow them down," and they have found that this is the most accurate way to describe their friendship. Coco's impeccable dance moves and ability to match any energy have enabled the making of countless memories between the two. These include a spontaneous day-trip to a wedding in Idaho for an unknown couple, a sleepless night of 50 mile-per-hour winds at the Salt Flats, and coming out on top at an all-you-can-eat french toast eat-off.

Nathan Fletcher

Groomsman

Nate Fletcher is a good man. Clean cut, well-mannered. There's not many things that can cause Nate to stray from his kind, fun-loving self... except for his lemon bucket hat and his 3 wood. When those items are wielded by Nate, all I can say is get out of the way. Luckily, John has been able to use these weapons to his advantage by conquering various golf courses with Nate, accumulating a large amount of real estate throughout the valley.

Morgan Stauffer

Bridesmaid

Layne knew that Morgan was not like other girls when she was the only one in the friend group brave enough to attempt The Blazin' Challenge at Buffalo Wild Wings. Layne then realized that she would forever be indebted to Morgan after Morgan introduced her to the beauty that is the land of Mount Pleasant, Utah. Morgan's loyalty as a friend and her ability to apply a Taylor Swift lyric to any situation instantaneously has made her someone that Layne views as a role model.

Wilson Lewis

Groomsman

Wilson might be the most dedicated AZ sports fan on the face of the earth. His opinions on the Cardinals, Suns, and Sun Devils will always be rational, and he always keeps his cool on the golf course. John will always be grateful for all the sports outings that he was able to attend with Wilson, but he is most grateful for Wilson's conversion from worshiping LeBron to recognizing the evil that is the LA Lakers.

Lindsey Ball

Bridesmaid

Lindsey is another cherished friend that was destined to enter Layne's life because of the friendship of their older brothers. Layne's favorite birthday to date is her 20th, because this was the day the two friends first met. If you were to ask Layne who the coolest person she knows is, Lindsey would be the answer. Not only did Lindsey win a Korean wrestling match and numerous ping pong games against locals of South Korea, but she can humble just about anyone in pickleball or spikeball.

Grant Hansen

Groomsman

Grant and John met on the basketball courts of Mountain View high school. Though they were never able to play on the same team due to their slight age difference, they quickly realized after living together in Provo that it was for the best that they were never on the same team...there would be no point to having a season since their pick and roll game is the most unstoppable play in all of sports. The competition would stand zero chance, and it would save everyone time to simply hand them the championship trophy.

Mylee Moon

Bridesmaid

Mylee is one of the first people that Layne met on the BYU track team. From throwing up on the side of the track, enduring multiple COVID quarantines together, coaching a soccer team of hyperactive 10 year-olds, and winning intramural championships, Mylee and Layne have been through it all together. If you find yourself in Provo, you may stumble upon them taking a hike, frequenting the local Nickel City, or practicing a party trick.

Davis Buckhannon

Groomsman

Davis and John were friends while they attended the same high school, but joined a special brotherhood while they lived together in Provo… a gym brotherhood. Both of them started attending the gym together, and even though Davis’s exceptional progress has been called into question for potential use of PED’s, John will always be indebted to Davis for pushing him forward on the path to greatness in the gym and in life itself.

Abby Trendler

Bridesmaid

Abby and John have always been pals, but navigating the waters of adulthood together has forged an even deeper bond between them. Even though Abby has travelled to foreign lands in recent years, they still enjoy some of their favorite past times now and then, including lounging by the pool and playing guitar. Abby and Layne have bonded over their love of cougar tails and Just Dance, but above all, their enthusiasm for the Camp Rock soundtrack. More often than not, Abby and Layne's time together is spent singing "Tear it Down" and excitedly performing the corresponding dance.

Chayce Bolli

Groomsman

Chayce and Layne were sworn enemies during their childhood, a relationship that was established after Chayce would throw Palo Verde beetles on Layne's head and put her through unwanted "Navy Seal Training" that consisted of tying Layne up and throwing her in the pool. Despite their history, Chayce and Layne have formed an unexpected friendship that has gotten Layne through her time at BYU. Chayce and John’s friendship has blossomed into a beautiful brotherhood founded by consumption of refried beans, dominating in sand volleyball, and running a dangerous wildcat offense in snow football.

Sydney Trendler

Bridesmaid

As baby of the family, Sydney was naturally protected by her older siblings, but John was probably the only one who could do so effectively. The two not only enjoy similar music, but bond over dog videos, making fun of their father, and late night snacking. Sydney and Layne's new sisterhood was solidified when they had the chance to be roommates on a family trip to California. Some of their core memories include seeing Journey perform at Stadium of Fire and sharing a Choch-Smash candy bar at Disney Land.

Sawyer Bolli

Groomsman

Layne's younger brother, Sawyer, deserves an award for enthusiastically participating in all of Layne's childhood requests. From dressing up like a princess to sitting through Layne's "school" lessons alongside all of her stuffed animals, Sawyer became one of Layne's earliest and best friends. John was initially intimidated by the 17-year-old man-child and football prodigy. However, after Sawyer’s burning love for Michael Jackson was discovered, John saw the soft center that lies beneath that shell of rock hard abs. Watch out for these two moving like the king of pop on the dance floor.
