Emily had just moved to Jacksonville to start her first job out of college with the Jacksonville Jaguars. My brother Jacob, who also works for the Jaguars, invited me to a St. Patrick’s Day gathering at Lemon Bar in 2023 where a big group of Jaguars employees were meeting up. I showed up late (as usual), tried to make up for it by buying two buckets of beer, and proudly slammed them down on the table. Sitting there was Emily. Later that day, Jacob brought us together and we hit it off immediately, despite one small issue: I was less than three weeks away from moving to California to fulfill a lifelong dream of living on the West Coast. Emily made sure that didn’t stop anything. We became a couple on April 11, 2023, cruised through a year of long distance, then started building a life together in Florida. She's even turned me into a dog person with our dog, Blu. After over a year of living together, I proposed in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, surrounded by 18 family and friends, including people Emily didn’t even know were in town. We can’t wait to make it official back in the mountains of Dahlonega, GA. We hope to see you there!
