Shana and I are first cousins with a sister relationship. An age difference of six years resulted in a perfect relationship dynamic. She has always kept me humble and helped prevent my smart mouth from getting me in constant trouble. I am truly grateful for having such a positive influence in my life. It was a pleasure to be a part of her wedding two years ago, and I am extremely honored to have her support on my special day. I can always look to her for some encouraging and empowering advice. The life that she has led continues to be an incredible example to reference. As the owner of One.Pour.Girl, an entertainer, wife, and mother, this woman is the full package and then some. Her grace and style exude confidence.

Dominique is affectionately known as Niko or if you've been around long enough you might know him as Yellow Boy (lol). Niko has been more than just a friend, the last twenty plus years of knowing him has been more like having another brother. I am thankful for Niko befriending me after I moved to Charleston, SC in middle school. I believe this was the first showing of Niko's kind heart because he befriended me despite me taking his position on our middle school football team. Niko, is an ambitious, experimental, and free-spirited person. I have always admired his drive to succeed. Niko has accomplished so much at such a young age in his career field. His accomplishments stretch from being the youngest person to obtain his certification in club management to being featured in various magazines and awarded at conferences. We have experienced extreme highs and devastating lows that managed to only strengthen our brotherhood. I couldn't imagine not having this guy beside me for such a major moment in my life, and I look forward to supporting him in the same way when his day comes. Yo!

Who needs siblings when you have a cousin only 2 years older than you? Growing up, Shantelle was such a sweet kid, and I was the little terror that kept her on her toes. From getting blamed for my artwork on our grandmother's walls to getting yelled at from putting me in my place (even though I started the fight), she handled the older cousin trenches well. Throughout the years we have formed a beautiful sisterhood. Throughout my entire life she has been there to protect and support me, and I couldn't ask for a better person to be by my side on my special day. Currently, Shantelle is the co-owner of multiple businesses, a fiancé, and mother of two. Booked and busy is an understatement. This woman is a force and destined for greatness. I truly admired her.

CJ and I have been friends for twenty plus years. Despite being born in two different states we still manage to share many of the same interests. Having this guy as a friend through high school, college and now adulthood is truly a blessing. The endless laughs and daily in-depth discussions always provides me with a new perspective on topics. CJ, is one of the most relaxed, humble and honest friends I have. He will always be honest with you, including the times where you are wrong. I have had the joy of watching CJ grow from the kid I met to an amazing father and husband. I was able to support CJ on his wedding day and I couldn't imagine not having another best friend beside me.

From making jelly and cheese sandwiches at 2am as kids to exceeding our wildest dreams, this friendship is one that will stand the test of time. As the daughters of two best friends, our lives were destined to be intertwined. With literally 28 years of friendship, Chelsea and I have grown and changed immensely, but what stays the same is our supportive connection. No matter where we are in life, we can pick up right where we left off. Soul sisters is the perfect title for us. Also, I want to shine a light on the work she is doing as an elementary school teacher and basketball coach in the West Palm Beach area. This next generation of kids will accomplish great feats with Ms. Rich in their corner. Her innovative way of teaching provides the best structure and promotes a safe environment for them to thrive. I adore her selflessness and giving spirit.

The 4 years at Coastal Carolina University gave me a lifelong friend in Fred. Fred is by far one of my favorite people that I have met in college (outside of my beautiful fiancé of course). During our time at CCU Fred and I have shared some of the great times (that we now laugh about). We have done almost everything like acting in CCU’s biggest play, partying and hosting CCUs biggest college cookouts and evening watching each other graduate. My boy Fredy P can light up a room with his captivating personality. I am happy to see him grow into the man that he is now, and I can only imagine the man he is on his way to becoming. I was told once I got to college that I would make lifelong friends and they weren’t wrong, because in Fred, I found a brother.

Let the cousin roll call continue. I would like to introduce Sophia Chambers, our family socialite. I'm always here for any of the shenanigans. No party is complete without her energy. However, she is more than just an entertaining personality. Sophia is one of the most resilient and true hearted women that I know. Her approach to handling adversity is nothing short of amazing. She always pays her success forward as well, which is a remarkable quality to possess. I have definitely learned self-confidence and empowerment from her. We are cousins by blood, but friends by choice, and I am truly grateful for our growing relationship.

Imagine immediately moving to a city and thinking you do not have any family near you and then quickly discovering that you actually do. Jasmine’s family was quick to show me that I was never alone. From my time of meeting Lamar, he has been supportive of me, a selfless man that willingly shares his resources to ensure that those around him are successful. I’ve always admired his work ethic, he works tirelessly providing for his family and building a promising future. I am excited to have Mar on my side on my wedding day as I was so fortunate to do for him on his day. I am looking forward to having another cool cousin in my family.

During the first day of veterinary school, Richeal and I were placed in the same group for a team building exercise. We instantly clicked, which turned a usually awkward situation into an enjoyable experience. Then at the end of the day, this sweet soul offered to drive me to and from campus for the entire orientation week, which saved me from acquiring an extensive Uber bill since I hadn't purchased my car yet. Our friendship took off from that day and has been growing stronger ever since. Having a great friend while going through a challenging academic program makes a world of difference. Now as new doctors, you'll catch us taking girls trip, consulting on cases, and supporting each other's personal and professional goals. For most of my younger years, I vividly remember looking up to and wanting to be very much like my cousin Rell. He was and still is one of the coolest guys that I have ever met. I remember wanting to dress like him, and I even wanted to hoop like him (In some ways, I'm still working at this lol). You couldn’t tell me that Rell wasn’t a NBA caliber player, he for sure is my one favorite. Outside of wanting to be like my big cousin, I simply like just being around him. To this day I find enjoyment in just sitting around watching tv and talking with him. I can always count on him to be there to support me, just as he will be on the day of the wedding.
Sierrah Travis

I met Sierrah our first year in veterinary school. We connected as friends a little later in the semester once we accepted roles as student ambassadors and had opportunities to spend more time together. As the leader of our study group, she kept us on top of all things veterinary medicine. She definitely played a huge part in getting me across the graduation finish line. She also dedicated her time to being a voice for the BIPOC students at VMCVM by constantly challenging the status quo and fighting for policy change. Her ability to remain poised and professional during times of adversity is to be commended. It's an honor to have her as a friend. I'm so thankful that a simple alliance as the only two black student ambassadors blossomed into a beautiful friendship. This vet bae will be taking the world by storm as a board-certified internal medicine specialist in just a couple years.

You don’t meet too many people in this world like my cousin Tim, I admired him just as much as I did his younger brother Tarelle. I spent much of my formative years with Tim. It's where part of my passion for understanding how things operate came from. Tim works magic with his hands from vehicles to home remodeling. I like to think watching him take apart and put back together car parts inspired me to do the same but just in the field of science. Tim and Tarelle are more like the older brothers that I do not have than they are cousins. Some of my fondest memories with Tim was our White Castle nights where we would play video games until the sunrise for the next day and do it all over again. Tim still calls and checks in on me regularly, just as I looked to him as my big brother, cousin. I look to him now as an example of what a devoted husband is.

Sariyah is the cousin/Goddaughter of the bride, and Autumn is the niece of the groom. These two little girls are pure joy and have been winning over hearts since the second they were born. Each of their smiles have the power to light up a room, and they will steal the show with their big personalities. Turn on Encanto and they'll give you a Broadway level performance. Only being one month apart in age, these two will be best friends by the end of the night.

My only nephew August, who is affectionately known as Fat Man, is truly an amazing, joyful, and unique child. His smile, much like his sisters, can light up a room and warm hearts instantly. Even though he’s so young, it is apparent that he will have such a captivating personality. I am excited to see this cool kid capture the hearts of family and friends. I love my nephew so very much and you all will too once you see him cut a rug.
