As of today, August 17, 2021, it is with much regret that we have decided to cancel our wedding in Palm Springs. The last year has been quite challenging with the experience of the pandemic and border closings. As difficult as this is, we feel it is best to relieve ourselves of the ongoing anticipation of waiting. Thank you for understanding and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Any gifts we have received will be refunded back. Sincerely, Cal and LaWanda
Well we held out as long as we could, but as of today, August 10th, looks like we are going to have to postpone our wedding! Mainly due to the fact that Cal's family is all located in Canada, and right now the Canadian borders are closed going to and from the U.S. And even if they do open in time, the 14 day quarantine poses a major problem for guests, coming from anywhere. We will be sending out another "save the date" or, "postpone the date" formally, but the new date is going to be October 30, 2021. We apologize for the inconvenience, but are happy and relieved to move our special day to a time when hopefully we are able to celebrate the way in which we intended.
The ceremony and the reception are located at the same venue. The Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort and Spa: 41000 Bob Hope Dr, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270. (760) 568-2727. The formal invites will be sent out between 6 and 8 weeks out from the wedding date. We would look for rsvp's to be received by 3 weeks out from the wedding, so we can finalize last minute details.
Yes. We are registered through our website, Zola.com, Bloomingdales.com, and CrateandBarrel.com. All registries you should be able to access via our website: www.zola.com/registry/lawandaandcal
The ceremony will begin at 4:00 pm on that Saturday, October 30, 2021. We would suggest that guests arrive at least 30 minutes prior. If somehow you arrive late, just seat yourself quietly in one of the back rows.
The Omni offers complimentary valet and self-parking for all guests. Guests staying at the resort will park by their room, and there is no additional cost.
It's a party! We would suggest cocktail or summer formal attire. Anything you would wear to a nicer restaurant and for summer weather (it is still quite warm during the day in Palm Desert, cooling down a little in the evening.) Also, the ceremony is taking place on the green (4th tee), so make sure you wear shoes which are comfortable to walk on the grass.
The big question. The formal invitation and the rsvp envelope will detail specifically who is invited and whether or not there can be a plus one added.
We love the kiddos, but for this event, no small children please.
There are several hotels and Airbnbs in the area from which to choose. On our website under "Accommodations", we have suggested a few hotels in the area.
Uber is going to be the best bet to get around all of the Palm Springs/Palm Desert/Rancho Mirage area.
