Maid of Honor
Julia is Emily's big sister and best friend- through thick and thin, they have been inseparable. Julian has become the brother that Julia never had and together, they love picking on Emily . . . Ha! Words can't describe how much it means to have Julia by Emily's side on this special day as her Maid of Honor. Julia is a talented Designer, and has actually designed the majority of the artwork incorporated in our wedding!
Best Man
Nick and Julian have been close friends since the 3rd grade. Though these two lived in two different counties, they always seemed to convince their parents' to drive them to hang out. From riding razor scooters around town to challenging kids to DDR battles at the Great Mall, they've always been able to stay connected no matter what life threw along the way. Nick was the first Julian's friends that Emily met and has become one of Emily's closest friends throughout the years.
Bridesmaid
Darlene is Julian's little sister, and Emily's soon to be sister-in-law. Emily is so excited to gain another sister and adventure through life with her. Growing up, Julian and Darlene went on many adventures together. As they got older, Darlene continued her love of travel and has been to a variety of different countries around the world! Darlene, Julian, and Emily share a love of latin music and dancing.
Groomsman
Meeting each other before meeting their own siblings, Filbert and Julian attended school together from Pre-K to 8th grade. Filbert was always the friend Julian would call on for technical advice since he was extremely proficient with computers at a young age. Finding a common interest in music, they partnered to launch a DJ company in high school traveling throughout the Bay Area to perform. To this day, Julian still calls Filbert for advice about the most random topics ranging from medicine to gardening.
Bridesmaid
Cody and Emily have known each other since they were 9 years old, when they started playing for the East Bay Xplosion- a Bay Area AAU basketball team. Cody and Emily grew up together playing basketball throughout childhood and high school, and their mothers became best friends. They have shared so many special memories together on and off the court- Cody was even there to surprise Emily in Disneyland during her engagement day!
Groomsman
Dom and Julian's parents go way back to their college days at SJSU and their fathers worked together throughout their careers. They've been considered cousins since pool parties, video game sleep overs, and driveway basketball. After one particular summer and a crazy growth spurt, Dom went from little cousin to the bigger-little cousin... and driveway basketball was never the same. Fun fact: Dom's mom and Cody's mom played on the SJSU basketball team together.
Bridesmaid
Ellie is one of Emily's closest friends, and hails all the way from Australia! Emily and Ellie met at San Jose State, and played women's basketball together at SJSU. As a transfer student from University of Idaho, Emily helped recruit Ellie to SJSU and from that recruiting trip, they became inseparable at college. Post college they have remained besties from near and far- she was actually the first person to know about Julian as a special person in Emily's life!
Groomsman
Ritchie and Julian met in high school through mutual friends who were all immersed in the mid-2000s regional culture of the hyperactive hip hop scene. They both bonded over music, basketball, having a good time with good people, and exploring the capabilities they can achieve in life. Julian worked his first job with Ritchie shortly after high school graduation. Although that job was short-lived for the both of them, the themes they first bonded over stayed consistent reminding each other to have fun while grinding out and progressing in this thing we call life.
Bridesmaid
Isa is one of Emily's closest friends from High School. They also played basketball together in High School at St. Mary's College Berkeley. From walks around Lake Merritt, to their love of exotic food and adventure, they have made many wonderful memories together throughout the years! Julian and Isa have gotten close and bonded off of their love for debate and global conversation.
Groomsman
Kelvin is Julian's close friend from when he was living in San Francisco and the upper peninsula. They would always be active roaming from park to gym playing basketball or biking from the City to Oakland's First Friday. Of course all that activity would work up an appetite. For these two, eating was an event that everyone was invited to. Even when it came to football season, there is no Raider-Niner rivalry that would stop them from cooking up and chowing down--it would only enhance their amiable smack talk.
Bridesmaid
RJ is a close friend of Emily's from her college days at San Jose State University, where they were teammates and dorm hall buddies. At SJSU, RJ and Emily became close as post players- you could often see them assisting one another in the post and outside the key for 3! Fun fact- RJ broke Julian's Aunt Winna's college rebounding record while at San Jose State. After college, RJ and Emily remain close friends- they've created so many memories on and off the court (with the addition of their spouses!).
Groomsman
Vechat and Julian met at their former company offsite as new hires. They instantly clicked over 90s R&B, tequila, and good vibes. V is one of the most adventurous and free-living people who has a highly infectious spirit. Not only do Julian & V keep each other sane dealing with nuances related to work, V motivates Julian to stay grounded and remember the passions of life. From making mixtapes to changing hair styles, they share eclectic styles and love inspiration from anywhere. At the end of the day, these two are all about good times with good people.
Bridesmaid & Marriage Witness
Katrina (also known as April) is one of Emily's closest childhood friends. They met playing AAU basketball together when they were 9 years old. Katrina, Emily, and Cody played on the same basketball teams together as kids, and the trio ended up going to the same high school to continue playing basketball together. After many years of adventures together, Katrina's basketball talents lead her to an accomplished career serving as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy. After a few years away serving our country around the world, Katrina landed a new opportunity with the U.S. Navy stationed in Monterey. Emily and Julian are so excited to have her back home in the Bay Area!
