FAQs

Question

What are you doing about COVID safety?

Answer

We are here for a good time, but we also want everyone to feel safe at our wedding. There will be many small children and elderly guests at our wedding, and we are unsure if vaccinations for young children and infants will be available before July (fingers crossed!). Thus, we are requesting for our guests to be vaccinated and boosted. Vaccination is the best way to keep everyone healthy, and most of our guests will be vaccinated. If you are not vaccinated at the time of the wedding, we ask that you please take a rapid COVID test within 48 hours prior to our wedding date. This is to protect the health and safety of everyone, especially our medically fragile guests. Thanks for helping us stay safe and healthy!

Question

What are all these weekend events?

Answer

One of the big reasons we chose to have our wedding at the Trailside Inn is that the weekend model gives all a chance to spend more time together and reconnect. We know some of you are traveling from very far away, and COVID has made it difficult for us all to be together over the last few years. We are really looking forward to seeing all of you and spending time together. We hope you can spend the weekend at the Trailside Inn and join us for all the fun we have planned!

Question

What if it rains?

Answer

We are asking everyone to please cross their fingers and toes for nice weather, however if it rains we will move the welcome party inside on Friday evening. The reception is tented and will be outdoors rain or shine. The Inn managers have been doing this a long time, and are wizards at adapting plans if needed, so not to worry – the fun will go on!

Question

Where is the wedding registry?

Answer

In lieu of a wedding gift, we are asking everyone to consider staying on site at the Inn with us. We know that travel costs and lodging, especially in the era of COVID, can be very expensive. We have everything we need together and do not expect any additional gifts (for real, just seeing your face is plenty!). However, for those of you who really want to get us something, our family and friends have set up a registry with Honey Fund (please click on the registry tab above).

Question

What do I wear?

Answer

We’re pretty casual, so feel free to dress comfy and casual for the weekend. The wedding itself will be cocktail attire, however you may wish to leave your stilettos at home because we'll be outside in the grass. Should I wear a suit/jacket/tie? Close family who will be in portraits after the ceremony will be wearing suits, ties and jackets.

Question

What can I do on Saturday before the reception?

Answer

There’s lots to explore in Killington, please check out our “Things to Do” page.

Question

Can my significant other/dog/friend/kid come?

Answer

Your invitation will indicate all invited guests. Plus ones have generally been reserved for serious partners/spouses. This is a kid friendly wedding & children are invited, however as much as we love your dog (and we do LOVE dogs), there are no dogs allowed at the Trailside Inn. If you have any questions about your invitation, please feel free to reach out to us directly.

Question

I have a dietary restriction and/or food allergy, what will I be able to eat?

Answer

As people with allergies ourselves, we will be doing our best to ensure all our guests can enjoy the weekend. We are accounting for our gluten free, vegetarian, and nut free guests in our planning. We will also likely have some dairy free options. You will be able to indicate these preferences on your RSVP, and if you have any additional dietary restrictions, please let us know. We will also have some kid friendly dinner options (mac and cheese, chicken) at Saturday evening’s reception. We hope to allow all of our guests to enjoy the weekend as much as they can, but feel free to also keep any snacks or special foods in your room as needed.

Question

Anything else I need to know?

Answer

With the exception of the wedding reception, the entire weekend is BYOB. Feel free to bring your favorite drink and/or snack with you for the campfire and late night parties! Instruments are also welcomed and encouraged around the campfire. Please bring a water bottle, if possible. Because this is the Green Mountain state, the Trailside Inn strives to be very eco-friendly. As such, they discourage the use of single use plastic water bottles. Guests are encouraged to bring their own water bottles for use during the weekend. The hotel provides ample filtered water for your enjoyment (and it’s delicious, we tasted it!).
