Travel/Transport

The Wedding Website of Laurence Hilleret and Kieran Chandler

Flight

Lyon St Exupery Airport

St Exupery is the closest airport to the venue. Taxis or Car rental from airport to the venue will take approximately 1 hour. For those that are interested in visiting the city centre of Lyon, there is an express tramway (30min) that will take you to Lyon Part-Dieu (~25€ per person). *Note the city centre is ~45 minutes from the wedding venue.

Train

Getting to Lyon via Train

- OPTION 1 - Eurostar from London to Paris - Gare du Nord (2h15) and then take the TGV from Paris - Gare de Lyon to Lyon Perrache (2h). /!\ Note this option requires you to change train station in Paris (~30 mins via metro). OPTION 2: Eurostar from London to Lille (1h30) and then TGV from Lille to Lyon Perrache (3h).

Travel Note

Getting from Lyon to the venue

To get from Lyon to the venue, there is a TER (suburb train) from Lyon Perrache that will get you to Villefranche-sur-Saône (~30 mins). However there is no public transport from Villefranche-sur-Saône to the venue as it is in the middle of the countryside. Taxis or Car rental will likely be the best option. It takes ~45 min to go to the venue from Lyon and ~15min to go to the venue from Villefranche-sur-Saône so please leave plenty of time in order to get to the venue before the official start time. We also advise you to pre-book a taxi at least a few days in advance, to get there and to leave the venue. /!\Friday 1st May is a big bank holiday in France (la fête du travail) which can often impact upon transport. We recommend booking travel in advance and with plenty of time to arrive at the venue. * Note that often shops/public conveniences/buses are shut on this day so please plan ahead.

Train

Travel Note
