The ceremony, cocktail reception, dinner and dancing will be held at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, Missouri. The ceremony will be held outside on the West Terrace, and the cocktail reception and dinner and dancing will be indoors.
We recommend arriving no later than 5:40pm so you can be in your seats no later than 5:50pm. There is a short walk through the galleries to get to the ceremony space and we will need all guests in their seats ahead of the ceremony, which will begin promptly at 6pm.
We have arranged for shuttles to take guests from The Fontaine Hotel to the wedding venue. Please be in the lobby by 5:20pm for a 5:25pm departure. Shuttles will take guests from the venue back to The Fontaine Hotel at the end of the night beginning at 11pm and running through the end of the reception.
We’d love to see our family and friends dress up with us! Our wedding is Black tie optional, meaning men should wear either tuxes or dark suits and women should wear formal dresses.
Guests will make their way to their seats down the aisle on pavers, but chairs will be on grass. It should only be a few steps, though.
August in Kansas City is hot, with average highs in the upper 80s. Only our ceremony will be outdoors, but plan for warm weather for your weekend.
As much as we would love to include everyone, we cannot accommodate additional guests. If you received a plus one, your guest’s name is listed on your invitation and will appear under your name when you RSVP. Otherwise, we would love to keep the wedding as an intimate event with close friends and family. Thank you for understanding.
Our wedding and reception will be an adults-only event. We hope you understand and use this night off as a fun date night!
You can park in the museums parking garage and then make your way to the West Terrace at the back of the museum where the ceremony is taking place. Parking vouchers will be available so please let us know ahead of time if you plan to drive.
