While Tom was in the UK, he started planning his proposal to Lauren. Unknowing to Lauren on March 28th, he flew to Colorado to meet with her family to ask for their blessings. He also met up with Lauren's friend Emma, who helped Tom pick out and design the perfect ring for Lauren. Tom turned up at Lauren's house to surprise her but kept the last few days a secret. He proposed at the Salem Maritime National Historic Site in Boston on May 11th 2019! Along with Lauren's friend Margaret, he planned a boat cruise around the Boston Harbor following the proposal. Lauren's mom Lisa and stepdad Scott flew in to surprise Lauren on the boat. Friends, Maragret, Sam, Jack, Ben & Nick also joined Lauren & Tom on the boat for the celebration!
The government finally said yes and we had 90 days to tie the knot! We signed our marriage license on Friday December 20th, 2019 at Chautauqua park in front of the family and friends who were able to be there with us on very short notice. It was a beautiful ceremony but we can't wait to celebrate our marriage with the rest of the people who we wished could have been there!
Covid. Having to reschedule a wedding once is a huge amount of stress and effort. But to do it three times is a miracle. Lauren has done such an amazing job figuring out all the details of this day to finally make it a reality. We thank you our guests for your flexibility and patience with us. We look forward to celebrating in the future soon!
