Thomas and I 0first met very briefly when he was working as a cashier at Hot Topic. I was shopping for a birthday present for a friend at the time when he asked if he could help. I said "no" and left the store. About a month later, I started my first semester at the local community college and discovered that "the guy who followed me around the store" was in my Comm101 class. A few weeks later, my best friend and I went to a Mayday Parade concert and learned that he was also there. A month or so after that, I worked at Jockey for Black Friday and remembered that Thomas had been working at Hot Topic since the night before. I texted him and asked him what kind of coffee he drank. I stopped at Starbucks, picked myself up and peppermint hot chocolate, and got him a caramel hot coffee (which I would later learn tasted like trash). After the semester let out for the holiday break, we started texting more and more. Then one evening in February, he invited me over to his house to watch a movie and hang out with his friends. I agreed. When I left, he stood with me next to my car and kissed my chin (which now makes a funny story on how he missed our first kiss). After that, we decided that we were dating. Fast forward a few years into our relationship, we survived an awful summer working together at a crappy children's summer camp, three Mayday Parade concerts, and a few job switches. In early 2017 I was accepted into Rollins College and decided to move down to Florida to finish my degree. Instead of putting our relationship on hold, Thomas decided that he would move too. So we moved. Since being in Florida, our relationship has overcome a number of obstacles. Though those challenges were hard at times and required special care and attention, they have brought us closer than ever before. I am happy to say I cannot wait to start my life with Thomas and see what the rest of our lives togther has to offer.
