New CDC Guidelines

And How the Resort is Handling it

Generations Riviera Maya Resort will offer a complimentary, on-site covid-19 antigen test for guests who are traveling to the U.S, as per CDC guidelines. The first antigen test will be available free of charge at the hotel in response to new CDC requirements that all air passengers entering the United States produce a negative antigen test. If a guest's test results are positive, the resort will provide quarantine accommodations until a doctor certifies clearance for travel with a negative test result for a period not to exceed 14 nights. Check out our FAQs for more info.

No Need To RSVP!

2020 was a crazy year! We are so thankful for those joining us in Mexico and will miss those who cannot attend. Your health and safety are our top priority, and understand if you are unable to make it.

How We Met

July 31, 2015

We met the old-fashioned way, five years ago at a bar in Charlotte, North Carolina. Lauren was with a group of friends celebrating a birthday, and Raymie was out celebrating his friend’s newfound freedom from an ex. Just like any respectable conversation, it kicked off talking about beer and breweries. Raymie could have sworn the beer Lauren was drinking was from Colorado (because he had just visited his sister there, so he knew 😉). Little did he know, Lauren was from Colorado and knew he was wrong, so she made a bet with him. If he was wrong, Raymie buys her a beer. If he was right, he still buys her a beer (because that’s how flirting works). Lauren, of course, won, and the rest is history!

The Proposal

February 16, 2019

We had a mountain weekend planned for Valentine’s Day (which wasn’t out of the norm for us). We stayed at a cute Bed and Breakfast with a beautiful back garden, so we made a plan to take a walk after breakfast (again, nothing out of the norm, so Lauren had no idea). We decided to wait and exchange cards when we got back. We started our walk, taking the usual selfies along the way. When we got down to a bridge, we stopped to take it all in. That is when Raymie told Lauren that he brought his card with him and got down on one knee. Lauren, of course, freaked out and started to cry in typical Lauren fashion and left him down there a little longer than he expected. But of course, she said YES!
