Flight
The main airport on the island is Kahului Airport (OGG). Direct flights are available from many major cities on the U.S. mainland. Airport to Lahaina: Lahaina is about a 45-minute to 1-hour drive from Kahului Airport, depending on traffic. We recommend renting a car during your stay, as it’s the easiest way to explore the island and get to/from the harbor.
Travel Note
Our wedding ceremony will take place on the water, aboard a boat operated by the Pacific Whale Foundation, departing from Lahaina Harbor on Saturday at 4:00 PM. Please plan to arrive at the harbor by 3:30 PM to allow time for parking, check-in, and boarding. Lahaina Harbor Address: 📍 675 Wharf Street, Lahaina, HI 96761 We will be boarding a Pacific Whale Foundation boat — look for their signage and check-in area near the harbor. Additional boarding details will be provided closer to the date.
Travel Note
Car Rentals: Available at Kahului Airport. Book early—Maui car rentals can sell out, especially during spring. Rideshare Services: Uber and Lyft are available but may be limited in some areas and times. Parking at Lahaina Harbor: Paid public lots are available near the harbor, but they can fill up. We suggest arriving early to secure a spot and enjoy a stroll through downtown Lahaina.
Travel Note
We recommend staying in or near Lahaina, Kaanapali, or Napili for the most convenient access to the harbor and wedding festivities. The bride and groom are staying at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa in Kaanapali. Other great options nearby include: Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa Kaanapali Beach Hotel The Westin Maui Resort & Spa Various Airbnb and vacation rentals in Lahaina and Kaanapali If you'd like help coordinating accommodations with other guests, feel free to reach out!
Travel Note
Weather in April: Expect warm, tropical weather — generally mid-70s to low 80s°F (24–28°C). April is typically dry, but light showers are possible. Pack a light rain jacket, just in case. Time Zone: Maui is on Hawaii Standard Time (HST) — there is no daylight saving time. What to Pack: Sunscreen, sunglasses, light clothing, sandals, and your swimsuit if you plan to beach-hop. Whale Watching: April is the tail end of humpback whale season in Maui — and since the ceremony is with the Pacific Whale Foundation, there's a good chance we might spot a few whales during our time on the water!
